Driver's license requirements
- Australia recognizes valid foreign driver’s licenses if you’re visiting on a trip that’s shorter than six months. If you’re visiting for a longer period or are living in the country permanently, you need to obtain the local license instead.
- If your driver’s license is printed in a non-Latin script (Cyrillic, Arabic, etc.), you’ll need an International Driving Permit (IDP).
- Similarly, if your driver’s license doesn’t show your photograph, you might be required to have an IDP instead.
- You must carry your driver’s license, not a copy, with you at all times.
- You need to have had your driver’s license for at least two years.
- Some rental car suppliers charge a young driver fee for drivers between the ages of 22 and 25 and a senior driver fee for drivers over the age of 65.

Couple of rainy days, but otherwise great weather. The reef is great, of course; but so is the Daintree, Kuranda, caves out in Chiligoe, the lava tubes in Undara... the list goes on! Lot of time in the car to get to some places but all were worth it.

We rent Sixt car for 2 days and went up to Caventas (200 km+ from Perth) to visit The Pinnacle and Lancelin. We booked rent car for 3 pax and Sixt has provided us compact SUV car, Kia Stonic. This car can fit up to 5 pax, so we enjoy the extra space and had a comfortable and enjoyable trip.

I went to Strahan from Hobart and then went to Cradle Mountain for 2 nights.
The road to Strahan wasn’t very easy, glad it wasn’t rain.
Did a boat tour in Strahan for 6 hours with lunch. It was quite relaxing and enjoyable. Cradle Mountain has so many walking tracks, different levels. Need to prepare well next time. Need to wear in layers, prepare for 4 seasons. Love the walking tracts, saw many Wombats. Very cute. Sheffield has lots Murals worth stopping by. Deloraine has Silk Art Gallery, amazing art piece.
Launceston has the Cataract Gorge definitely shouldn’t miss.
Next time will explore the east.

The first few days of the journey were rainy without any sunshine. The worst thing was on the 6th day of the trip, by accident I ran over a wallaby when I was driving in the late afternoon from the Bay of Fire towards Bicheno. This is the first time in my life killing such a lovely animal and I don't think I can forget about this terrible experience for the rest of my life. I hope I can recover the loss from insurance for repairing the car in this accident.
Nevertheless, I have to say Bargain car rental is really good, the car is clean, the staffs are friendly and helpful. I will certainly recommend Bargain car rental to my family and friends.

We headed to North Sydney, then to the Blue Mountains for hiking and touring the towns in the mountains. Then onto the Hunter Valley before coming back to Sydney. Really enjoyed seeing such a variety of landscapes, great drives and many small towns. Our bumblebee (our car was bright yellow) took us to some beautiful places!

The experiences we had in Tassie, was exceptional. We loved the state, the animals, the care, the friendliness and of course the beauty of the place. Everything was easy, to travel around, go to Bruny Island, restaurants, nature spots. We went to the platypus and Echidna centre at Beauty Point, and the Seahorse centre. We Love Tassie for all their nature spots, Bicheno (penguin waddle) what an adventure. We did a lot. Loved it.

We had a great time travelling around sunshine coast, the scenic rim and gold coast. We left everything flexible so we got accomodation each day depending on how far we wanted to drive, what we stopped to see etc. This worked well as we could avoid bad weather and humidity. We drove down the Fleurieu Peninsula and Victor Harbour areas as well as visited Hahndorf, Adelaide Hills and McLaren Vale wineries. We stayed at Moana Beach which was very handy to all those locations above and especially enjoyed hanging out on Christie’s Beach near Port Noarlunga. We then drove North and visited Yorke Peninsula, staying in Wallaroo. We did an easy bike ride from there to Kadina and back and enjoyed the beaches in the area. We have found everyone to be really friendly in South Australia and would love to visit again some day.

Everywhere we went the scenery was beautifully amazing.
And the people we met and spoke with along the way were wonderful. We are already looking forward to returning.

Cedar Lake Country Resort 10/10 - Beautiful accommodation surrounded by lovely gardens and a gorgeous lake. There is a huge pool and two spas to enjoy. An awesome games room with a pool table, table tennis, pinball machine, airhockey and car racing!! Then theres the lake where you can kyak or jump on a peddleboat and feed the turtles, ducks, swans, water hens or eels!!

We drove to the Gold Coast. Plenty to do and see. The theme parks weren't the best on a weekday. A few rides closed. Seems like the best time to go is Thur, Fri and weekends which is a shame as you then have to deal with large crowds. Weather was amazing.

The Sunshine Coast is amazing. We based ourselves at Mooloolaba in a beautiful airbnb, Emerald Springs. We visited Australia Zoo, make sure you allow a full day, it was relaxing and magical day. We shopped at Sunshine Plaza, free parking for the first 3 hours, OMG shopping choices were awesome, my wife loved it!! We bought groceries at the Kawana Shopping Centre, free parking. Visited Aussie World, great for small children and adults, and very affordable. Drove up to the Big Pineapple. Visited Mooloolaba Surf Club for a meal 10 out of 10. Went to the Sea Life Aquarium, Underwater World on the wharf precinct, very entertaining for the kids and adult's, free parking. We drove up to Noosa and had a meal at the surf club. All meals we had were amazing and everyone we came across from shopping to waiter staff were extremely friendly and polite, nothing was an issue for anyone. We also noticed that everywhere we went was very neat and tidy, plus clean toilets! Yay!! We didn't want to leave and will definitely be back soon, we needed longer than 5 nights to explore the region, next time 🤞
Bespoke staff made picking up and dropping off the vehicle very easy. Highly recommended - 10 plus.

be careful re correct terminal and booking hotel as Domerstic and Internation a verty different and not walkable to each. However the Enterprise car rental were very good as to lettingf you collect or return to either even if you booked the other. A plus for sure. The Central Coast is very worth touring and in particular the Hunter Valley plus the coast areas.

Port Arthur was amazing. The wildlife encounters at the UnZoo and in the wild. Beautiful sunrises and sunsets. The amazing seafood and whisky tasing is not to be missed. Salamanca markets are also a "must see" experience. Sadly, there was no time for the MONA, but that will be on my next trip

We stayed on Kangaroo Island and loved it! It was great to check out the Kangaroo Island Wildlife Park there and go into Flinders Chase NP early to have all the sites to ourselves. Definitely a cold stay (winter) so pack for the wind and temps. Also really enjoyed staying at the Western KI Caravan Park. We then drove to Melbourne. Stayed overnight near Grampians NP. Some cool views and lots of kangaroos. Definitely stop to see the 12 Apostles and leave more time than you think to make the drive. Many awesome coastline views!

Tasmania can only be summed up as "the land that time forgot".
We got to see and play in the snow, saw some amazing waterfalls, amazing hiking trails and even saw a platypus playing around in one of the rivers. Port Arthur though marred by tragedy, was beautiful. Plenty of breathtaking scenery and history to see and learn about.
We went to Mona buy Ferry and let's just say, you can not prepare yourself for the weirdness contained in this place. It's a labyrinth filled with eye opening, jaw dropping displays. It's a must see, you won't be dissapointed.
Great restaurants and friendly people made our trip one to remember.

We thoroughly enjoyed visiting Atherton Tableland and Lakes District. Walking at Granite Gorge was a great experience, as was seeing the platypuses at Platypus Park and Smokehouse. We loved having a delicious Devonshire tea at the cafe on Lake Barrine, and seeing the fish and turtles in Lake Eacham. The Cathedral Fig Tree was another amazing sight.

I had the most wonderful solo trip. I went to Rottnest island and it was surreal! I dine at Kailis Fishmarket at fremantle for the freshest seafood. Took some lesson on shooting a gun from Topshot. I rode an ATV and a buggy at Lancelin. I took many picture at King's park. I went to Caver sham Wildlife reserve to see the beauty of the beasts. My only transport was my car. I had a ball of a time

Being my first drive in Australia, it eased the stress that i was driving in a well looked after car. Easy to drive, clean, and fuel efficient. The vehicle was perfectly sized for travel around the city. We went to sea world, movie world, animal sanctuary, and along the roads adjacent to the beach. Due to the weather we were not able to follow through with our plans but what we could do, was easily achieved by the efficiency of the vehicle.

A must see is attending an event at the Sydney Opera House. We have been there watching a ballet presentation and everything were amazingly perfect.
There are many parks where you can see people enjoing life in an open green space. The Royal Botanic Garden is one of these wondefull places.

My Field Nat Park, Freycinet NP, Mt Wellington all beautiful. Walking length of Redbill Bay then watching sunset was a calm, peaceful and lovely experience. Driving south through Huonville to Geeveston then back along the eastern coastal route to snug was beautifully scenic. We also enjoyed a visit to the Raspberry Farm.

Launceston. and cararact gorge or Cradle Mountain hikes or wineglass bay or the bay of fires.
But for us the most outstanfing was a 3 hour cruise with Tasman Island cruises !! Breathtaking spectacular!! Fell in love with Hobart . Thought that Kunanyi was mesmerising- had a clear view! Coffee at The Pilgrim. How friendly people were !
We will be back to see more in Tassie . Loved it

Had a great time, based ourselves in Mandurah which is a lovely town and well worth a visit, went to Pinnacles NP amongst other things but highlight was Rottnest Island and those cute little Quokkas, hired E bikes which were more expensive than ordinary ones but we got to see just about everything on the island whilst passing all the ordinary bikes on the way!!

Father and son trip, just chilling. We went to the Mornington peninsula for the snorkeling and adventure park, but since it was too cold for snorkeling should have probably gone to Phillip Island because there is more to do there on a cold or rainy day (if you don't drink wine). We then returned to Melbourne and found it very useful that a zoo membership costs about the same as two days' admission for an adult and child, so we got the membership and had the freedom to come and go from all the zoos as we pleased. We really enjoyed the safari at Werribee Open Range Zoo, and the night tour at Moonlit. We got the car because of the travel to Mornington, Moonlit, and the zoos are pretty spread out. If we had been staying mostly in the CBD, the car would have been a needless expense and inconvenience, since there is a free tram and parking is hard to find and expensive. For future travelers, I suggest you map your major goals and only take a car if they are outside the tram system. If you need a car, Discover is the best way to go!

We stayed in Snug and travelled to Port Arthur historical site! We also went on the Tasman Wilderness Cruise, highly recommend. Next was Bruny Island on the ferry to see the lighthouse and did a tour of it! Loved our time in Tasmania, don't hesitate to holiday there 😀

We stayed in Lennox Head and Wooli in NSW. Lennox Head is the perfect place for a family holiday: great beach/board walk/coastal walks with several cafes and a Gelateria. Wooli is located in a National Park so much quieter and beautifully situated between a beach and river. Only one cafe but it’s an incredibly good one, thankfully (only open for breakfast and lunch though). Dinner options are very limited. The perfect place if you want to get away from it all.

First time in Tasmania we did the Gordon river cruise, blown away in Stanley love the Oxford Highway out of Burnie. Went up to cradle Mountain, 3° C and snow. The wilderness and national parks between Queenstown and Hobart, again amazing you must see it to believe it. We found good restaurants at Richmond and battery point. The view from Mount Wellington was lovely.

Got lost frequently. Broome is an unusual layout and takes a bit to get used to. I managed to find everything I was after. Viewed the Staircase to the Moon from the Mangrove Hotel which was awesome. Post rental was lucky enough to do a Kimberley Quest Cruise which was beyond my best hopes. Fantastic trip of the Kimberleys.

We were based in Busselton and did day trips. All the coastal spots had wonderful scenery. Plenty of places to have picnic lunches with picnic tables, great views and not a lot of people. Perfect for us. Furthest we drove was Albany. Left by 7am and home by 8.30pm. Really was a bit too far but worth it for some of the scenery and places we visited. Nannup was a great surprise as we drove through the town, because they had a tulip festival the week we were there magnificent tulips everywhere. We even went back for a longer look around.

While visiting an area like Tasmania there are so many things that you must see. For a great pub meal you must go to The Pub in the Paddock, its a great meal with all fresh vegetables and then you stop at the dairy farm next door to taste test different cheeses that are made on site and even watch as they make some. Also a must would be a visit to Richmond to the bakery opposite the old jail, which in itself is an eye opening experience seeing how the convicts were living when the country was first settled. You'll always have more places you'll want to see

the weekend farmers' markets are a must do. go there early and have a nice relaxed breakfast. the one we enjoyed was the Stirling Weekend markets. Also, make your way north to the Pinnacle Desert and take the time to walk around the desert. make sure you go to Lobster Shack for lunch. Hired a car, received a Hyundai Kona with low mileage and many comfort features. With it, I went to Cape Tribulation. The car handled well and was suited to the terrain.
The car hooks up to Bluetooth and Android Car and has steering wheel controls. Cruise control and smart, economy and comfort driving modes to go with how you want to drive.
Traction control for mud, sand and gravel.
Handles and cruises well along the Bruce highway from Cairns to Port Douglas and beyond.
Highly recommended for traveling around far north Queensland.

In Launceston I can recommend Ritchie's Mill for melt in mouth wallaby wings and chilled asparagus. Geronimo Aperitivo for excellent char grilled Stanley octopus and baked aubergine. In Campbelltown Zeps do a great steak sandwich. Dunalley Cannery does a divine seafood fettuccine with local mussels if they are available, and Bangor vineyard is another stop worth making. Visit Port Arthur Historic site and be sure to allow time for the whole two days your ticket purchases - there is a lot of very interesting history and great tour guides. If you're looking for adventure activity go to Hollybank Wilderness Adventure.

Darwin and surrounds there is so much to see, roads are so easy to navigate, and driving around is no problem at all. Head south, so much more to see and explore. WW2 history is fantastic.

Visited Hobart and Launceston. Definitely recommend researching a lot before driving anywhere as there are a lot of dirt roads and even though it’s not a long distance it takes more time than usual especially if you encounter a diet road and need to turn back! Always plan to be off any “country” roads before dusk to avoid the wildlife. The tasting trails are amazing and well worth doing but pick your must sees and plan.

Visited the Daintree area but other than the river cruise there was not much else as many places have closed for good. The Atherton tableland had a few exciting areas but you'll need a full day to drive to the various sites. In particular the Granite Gorge Nature Park was a new and worthwhile experience, but finding the place can be a challenge especially if you follow Google maps. Plan your trip ahead and always double check on the website if the location is actually still open for business.

Spent 10 days driving around Tasmania visiting Hobart, Freycinet, Bay of Fires, Launceston, and Cradle Mountain. Had a Nissan Xtrail which was comfortable, easy to drive, and very fuel efficient. Will definitely use this car hire company again.

Kuranda - definitely do the rail and skyrail. The butterfly farm and little cruise is also excellent for kids
Cairns Aquarium - small but great for smaller children
Daintree National Park - amazing
Mossman Gorge - lovely place to visit - well worth the visit
Hartley's Crocodile Farm - such a great place to visit
Dome Zoo - small but great for smaller children
Bungy jumping - great location, great staff

Travelled around Hobart, Bruny Island, Richmond, Eaglehawk Neck & Port Arthur. Having the hire car allowed for ease of access to tours and to stop of where we wanted for as long as we wanted as opposed to having to be on a bus time table. Having this car was idea for myself & my daughter. Thanks

The Esplanade is amazing and has so many huge parks for kuds to play in. Fig Tree Park is beautiful and if you'd like to have some amazing food Muddys has a park for kids to play while you enjoy your meal.

Cairns was wonderful. We visited the Aquarium and the Casino Roof Zoom on the same day. Both were full of activities and lots to see.
We went to Mossman Gorge. It has many walking trails.......suitable for all levels of walker.

I loved my vacation in Brisbane! The Australia Zoo is the best zoo that I have visited. The animals looked well taken care of and happy! The staff are very friendly and helpful and I love the animal interactions!
If you want to visit the beaches up near Noosa Heads, take into consideration that it is a very busy area and parking is horrendous! I ended up leaving because I couldn't find parking.
The Ginger factory tour was interesting and doesn't take very long. They give you free samples after the tour and a discount on the products you try if you take the tour.
If you like hot sauces, Red Hot Chili Pepper is a great little store to visit! They have a nice selection of spices and are very helpful and friendly. You can also sample some of the sauces for sale. Great stuff!
