We, 3 adults, travelled all over Tasmania and eventhough we had too much luggage, that little MG3 took us everywhere. The sad part is, that some of the National Parks have a gravel road entrance, so we had to skip those, as rental cars are not allowed on dirt roads. The NP are amazingly beautiful and the walking tracks were really good.

Tasmania is for discovering by car… Don’t trust google maps, in trip between Stanley and Strahan I choose second way…when I had drove more 100 km. I found a road without asfalt! I had to return and drive from beginning

It was a MtB holiday, visiting St Helens Bay Of Fires and Derby, with also one night in Launceston. Tasmania is a beautiful scenic and peaceful place and we will def be returning.

Water/seaside: Stanley (including penguins) and the Nut, Binnalong Bay, Wineglass Bay, Strahan and Corinna Wilderness cruises.
Waterfalls, lakes: Russell Falls, Hogarth Falls, Horseshoe Falls, Lake St Clair, Cradle Mtn waterfalls
Don't miss the amazing wood carving "The Wall" at Derwent Bridge.
Historic towns: Oatlands, Richmond, Ross. We enjoyed it all.

Travelling by car and seeing the Tamar Valley Region and also took a four hour cruise through the Tamar River and Cataract Gorge, amazing experience.
Drove from the Quality Hotel Colonial Launceston where we were staying, a 10/10 to Triabunna Marina where we caught a ferry with Encounter Maria Ferry to Maria Island. The Island was absolutely spectacular. A must do walk to see the Painted Cliffs.
The restaurants and cafes we dined in were great the food was absolutely delicious and customer service was excellent. Three Steps on George Restaurant In George street Launceston 10/10, would rate it more if we could.
Twinker Cafe Launceston 10/10. Mojo Cafe 10/10. Bread and Butter cafe 10/10 absolutely delicious food there.
Overall my friend Amira who came from Lebanon and l from Melbourne, had the most amazing trip. This is our second trip to Tasmania together in five years and my third. We love just the untouched beauty of Tasmania and the friendly and welcoming people.

We covered a couple of thousand kilometres of Tasmania and even discovered a few gems we didn’t have on our itinerary. We did many hikes and saw beautiful scenery and familiar attractions for ourselves. Tasmania is a beautiful place to self drive and I would love to return and take my kids to see the parts we couldn’t fit into our week away.
