Burgas Airport: Also known as Bourgas Airport (and as Letishte Burgas in Bulgarian), it is the second-busiest airport in Bulgaria. The airport is located 10km (6.2 miles) northeast of Burgas’ city center.

Poda. One of the large wetlands surrounding Burgas, Poda is a protected area and a conservation center. With some hiking trails, it is a great spot for birdwatching with rare species like pygmy cormorants and red-breasted geese migrating through the area every year. Just 12km (7 miles) south of Burgas, the nature preserve can be reached in about 15 minutes.
Nesebar. We did an excursion so sozopol and went to the castle, which was really good. Had a massage and Spa at Erma Spa on Flower Street in Sunny Beach, which was very good. Had lovely meals at Flora, Djanny's, Mexicano, all in Sunny beach. The White Rose is very good value and lovely meals in the New Nessebar and Hemingways restaurant in the Old Nessebar

Loads of out of the way places to visit if you feel like it. The castle of Ravadinovo near Sozopol is a particular favourite, Nessebar,Obzor, the market at Kableshkovo, the winery at Medovo. The only limit is the limit of your adventurous side.

There are a bunch of beautiful cities in Bulgaria, including around Burgas (e.g. Nessebar, Sozopol). We didn't plan to lay in the beach all the time, so we rented a car and visited Veliko Tarnovo, Sofia, Plovdiv as well as a bunch of cities and towns on the coast of Black Sea. What I didn't expect was that so many restaurants (and potentially other tourist attractions too) in Bulgaria would not let you to pay with a card, so I suggest to always have cash on you. A decent dinner for two may cost around 50BGN (~25€) or so.

Burgas was a lovely vibrant busy small city. Lovely restaurants which many you can eat outside. Most surprising is the vast park which runs parallel to the town and beach. Lots to do and a lovely evening walk. Very nice
