We travelled fron Skopje to lake Ohrid. It was beautiful trip through the moutains. I should took better car, but I choosed a economy, but in the end I can say, I handeled situation well.

There is not much to do there. Ohrid was beautiful, but if you are a traveller who likes to be on a move all the time and see not so touristic places, there is not much to do.
It is a bit polluted with trash, that ruins the view.
They drive a little like maniacs. :D
Everything is cheap if you shop in local markets.
The sad part is that we could not find many hiking trails on the Internet in the regions we were at.

During one week, with the cute yellow Peugeot 208, I visited 3 different cities of North Macedonia: Ohrid, Kratovo and Skopje. Ohrid has the prettiest and oldest lake of Europe, Skopje has an amazing night and urban life, super cheap and best quality restaurants... in Kratovo you can see something unforgetable called The Stone Dolls, a pretty site of gigantic rocks left by thousands of years of erosion. Everything super enchanting.

Skopje is very easy to navigate around but be sure to have cash on hand as some of the roads charge toll. If you are venturing out of Skopje then definitely rent a car there are petrol stations literally everywhere
