ABBYCAR at Crete Airport Heraklion

Cons: Instructions for pick up at Heraklion airport not clear. There is no desk only a pick up point. No instructions to call for an agent once at the pick up point.

Pros:

We arrived to find the office closed and no one answering the phone. After 45 grueling minutes waiting outside the empty office, they finally answered and said they had no car available due to a flight delay. They didn't refund the payment, the conversation was unpleasant, the service was poor, and we didn't get

Pros: Bad service and experiencie.I wouldn't recommmend ABBYCAR

Cons: I requested a GPS device and when we picked up the car, they gave us one with Bluetooth to use Google Maps on my cell phone.I told the employee from Abbycar about this and he insisted on telling me that the car had a GPS system. The day before our departure the back door window bróke and we were forced to drive back to the rental office for a new car.The employee wanted to give us an old Nissan Micra withouh Bluetooth and when we complained he gave the same model of car than before.

Pros: Good vehicle

Cons: Off airport pick up

Pros: There was no 24/7 availability. A different car was provided to me instead of the one I had booked. I was given a Nissan Micra with a 1.0L naturally aspirated engine, without a turbo, which was very underpowered.

Cons: There was no 24/7 availability. A different car was provided to me instead of the one I had booked. I was given a Nissan Micra with a 1.0L naturally aspirated engine, without a turbo, which was very underpowered.

Pros: I was unhappy with the original car we were given. After emailing Abbycar they were happy to exchange it for another car, although we did have to travel back to the depot to make the exchange.

Cons: Pick up is not at the airport but off-site, finally drove away from the depot 2hrs after landing.

Pros: Easy to find at the airport and easy to drop off

Cons: Nothing

Pros: I and my girlfriend travel to Crete, Heraklion. But Abbycar did not let us to rent the car, as our two creditcards were on the name of my girlfriends. They wanted to charge us eur 180 to change name of the booking. At the end we did not accept it. The Abbycar employee was absolutely not helpful to us.

Cons: I and my girlfriend travel to Crete, Heraklion. But Abbycar did not let us to rent the car, as our two creditcards were on the name of my girlfriends. They wanted to charge us eur 180 to change name of the booking. At the end we did not accept it. The Abbycar employee was absolutely not helpful to us.

Cons: Not respecting agreement

Pros: The car was clean

Cons: The price of the insurance €200,00) At the drop-off nobody was in the agency

Pros: Fast service on pick up and dropp off. Adviseing workers.

Cons: I like all. Good job.

Pros: Quick return

Cons: No directions to office. Office not signposted with a faded sign. Arrived 10:00pm but had to wait for people in front to be served and they tried to charge us because it was 10:08 when the paperwork was printed (after details had been input on the computer). I get the impression this is a go to approach as they were very quick and nonchalant in telling us to claim back from the airline.

Pros: Everything! The staff was super efficient and friendly too. The car was fantastic.

Cons: The explanation of how to find it was pretty bad for a highly educated English Speaking American. Lots of confusion with Hertz being the first kiosk you see inside the terminal, and them being used as a location marker. In my humble opinion, English directions need to simply state, "Exit the terminal and turn right to cross the street. Turn left and walk up the ramp to Hertz pick up location. Our kiosk is in the back corner of that parking lot, behind Hertz. Look for our sign.

Pros: N/A

Cons: They charge 35€ for arriving later than 10PM even thought it was due a flight delay. I had an accident-incident and agreed to give me a new car, but then, someone hit the car and the company refused to send me another car, refused to help me and refused to pick up the car even though I offered to pay for it. As well, lack f communication among the different people and departments I had contact with. I will never book any car with them.

Pros: Nice people

Cons: Tight location

Pros: Lennuk hilines ja küsiti lisatasu auto väljastamise eest (5 minutit peale tööaega 22.00!).

Pros: Easy and quick drop off. The guy helping us was very helpful.

Cons: Additional charge for picking up the car after 10/10.30pm. We were a little late but this wasn’t helped by google maps taking us elsewhere for the office.

Pros: Easy pick up once we had found the depot, the telephone number of the oofice was supplied and had we needed to we could have phoned for directions. Asking at the airport led us to the hire station. The car provided was a higher mileage car, but it was very clean, in great condition and performed faultlessly. For the price we paid, it was great value.

Cons: Nothing

Pros: Perfect service.

Cons: Nothing

Pros: they tried to do their best to help and give good service

Cons: the car was a little smaller than the car we were supposed to get, but maybe still in same group

Pros: ok

Cons: They did not offer vehicle insurance

Pros: Nothing

Cons: Came away with no car as not advised there would be extra charges when booking car, company refused refund, had no car and had to get taxi to hotel - utter nightmare, desk person unhelpful. Unable to comment on condition or service as got none

Pros: Their are offering good price at start, but..

Cons: Nobody mentioned me during booking process that I cannot go off asphalt road with rented car. Also nobody mentioned me that I have to wash and vacuum clean car before returning! Penalties for cleaning and off-road goes behind normal comprehension. 250eur just for cleaning and 350 for going off road!!!! That's insane!!!!

Cons: Deposit taken causing the problem. I'll have extra costs on my account.

Pros: Nothing, absolutely nothing

Cons: Terrible car condition, but this is what they have seems to me, many warning lights and for car company that’s normal no problem.

Pros: The flight was delayed and abbycar was closed. Couldn't pick up the car. Try to call only to have my call denied. Waiting for refund

Cons: No wonder is only rated 3* and all the comments are mostly negative

Cons: they charged us upon arrival for my driving license being too new (less than 3 years) most of the time the system automatically rejects if the dates do not meet the criteria set. They charged us off road, as far as I know you are not supposed to track the car, which also did not have any damages. I would not recommend this company to my worst enemy.

Cons: we had problem with the fuel policy. we lost 25euros due to the electronic fuel indicator that was late in updating fuel level. the agent abbycar just answer "it's your problem"

Pros: Friendly, reachable and competent staff. Great value for money

Pros: Efficienza e velocità bravi

Pros: They were helpful and polite at pick-up

Cons: The child seat was ridiculously expensive It took too long to fill things in when we had a booking They made us unload the luggage onto the ground while my son was gone for five minutes to get a trolly

Pros: Nothing

Cons: They never gave me the car because i did not have crédit card but only début, they refuse to take the déposit with cash so I had to find an other car at the last minute. The hotess Told me she Will pay me Back my deposit but never did.

Pros: Ease of handling picking up and dropping off the vehicle.

Cons: The car is old.

Cons: We arrived later (even if we have provided the arrival dates) we have been charged 185 € extra fee

Pros: That it was possible to drop off at another location

Cons: They delayed giving us the car and the car was not ready at the time we biked it. Yet on the contract they wrote the time we booked instead of the time they gave us the car. Also the car was not fully tanked. Yet on the contract they wrote 8/8 on fuel. When I told them that it was 7/8 they insisted that they had seen it and that it was OK. I checked again and indeed the car was in fact even less than 7/8 on fuel. So after insisting that another person looks at the car they corrected our copy(but

Pros: Nothing to recommend

Cons: No solution provided at airport

Pros: They were not efficient and gave away my car!

Cons: They couldn’t help me ! And did not find another car! Left me without a car!!!!!! Started my vacación bad!!!!!

Pros: nothing. i don't recommend to hire a car from this company

Cons: The attitude when returning the car was horrible and not nice. We were charged 477.4 euros for a scratch on the car that we did not do. A scratch that is on the lower side of the front left bumper (a scratch that is hard to see if you don't bend down). when we pick up the vehicle they did not told us that there was a scratch as mentioned and they didn't give up on us when we returned the car despite our explanations and requests. Our feeling was very bad and we felt they cheated us

Cons: I was disappointed with being charged €35 when I arrived at the service desk at 22:10 (10mins after office hours). The Abbeycar representative was not considerate when I told her that my flight was delayed an hour in Naples, even after I phoned them to say I would be arriving close to closing hours. There were quite a few people lined up with me at the same time, so the company was profiteering from a delayed flight. I understand that staff should be overtime, but €35 is hefty when 10mins late.

Cons: They didnt take my husbands creditcard so I have to pay 170 euro extra plus an sum of 350 euro in deposit because I had a debitcard. Not a pleasant start on a vacation.

Pros: nothing they wanted extra cost

Cons: nothing

Pros: Nothing sticks out.

Cons: Retuned car with minor dirt tracked by shoes throughout 9 day rental (nothing that a vacuum and 3 minutes couldn’t solve). Abby car declared this “excessive dirt, and would require extensive cleaning”. That charged us 60 EU to clean. Couldn’t fight it since we had a flight waiting. STAY AWAY

Pros: Nothing

Cons: My car was not there. I booked my car , but when I got there it was not there because we were over 3 hours later to pick it up. I booked it for a week. How those that matter what time I pick it up.

Pros: Better cars with more powerful engines, it's hard to drive on mountain roads

Pros: Quick service pick up and drop off

Cons: The host could be A little bit more friendly

Pros: ?

Cons: Bijkomende kosten en niet het gevraagde.

Cons: Got scammed by Abby car when we returned the car. A high fee impose for cleaning the car even if it wasnt really dirty. Plus they charge administration fees on top of that.

Cons: First of all it was never stated in the terms and conditions that we had to pay an additional fee of 35€ in case we pocket the car in out of office hours and second I have given a 600€ guarantee from my credit card, which I don’t know why I haven’t received back yet, since everything was fine and this transaction needs 3-4 working days. I kindly request to withdraw the money reservation

Pros: No long queues. Fast service.

Cons: Car was much smaller than the one offered on the website. it had many scratches and a problem with one of the tyres which was leaking air already from the beginning.

Pros: All went well, car was as booked, all was explained well and dokuments were fine

Cons: We felt that the car was driven a lot and make some noises even we did not drive any bad roads

Cons: No representative at the exit of the airport No indication

Pros: Price per rent (before being scammed)

Cons: Scam: unfair charges, rental service doesn't communicate -> prepared to solve with police as a fraud

Pros: Smooth dropping

Cons: New regulation mentioned when picking up the car (only allowed to drive on the asphalt road)!!

Pros: Everything

Cons: Nothing

Pros: AWEFUL EXPERIENCE WITH THE RENTAL COMPANY

Cons: THEY ADD A GPS ON YOUR CAR TO TRACK WHERE YOU GO AND THEY DID NOT REFUND THE LAST DAY AS WE RENTED ONE DAY LESS!!!!

Pros: Car was as advertised with no problems during the week I had it.

Cons: They were efficient, friendly and helpful.

Pros: They were nice, fast and gentle. Not sure why they have so many bad reviews.

Cons: The car seats that were provided were horrendous, dirty, and without any base unit or ISO Fix.

Pros: I have not pick up at all.

Cons: Abby car was closed when we arrived very late even if they had my flight number and said they would wait. Never again

Pros: We expected a Nissan Qashqai but were given a toyota

Pros: Quick, easy, efficient

Cons: Nothing, all was great

Pros: Quick and friendly

Pros: Nothing. Not polite. Asked to pay more money. Also discoverycars never sent me an email - response to my question. Could not edit the inquiry.

Cons: Horrible

Cons: I was promissed a peguet 308 but got a Hundai a 20. Big diffrence.

Pros: Nothing

Cons: Abbycar is a company that will give you car in bad condition and then take half of you deposit so you will pay 2 times more.

Pros: Nothing really. I quited wenn they asked me for 350€ deposit and found another car dealer on the spot.

Cons: First of all, before continuing to work with this company take a little tour to their Google reviews. You'll find 200+ 1 star rating reviews and most of them with the se reason. They ask the customer to leave 350€ deposit to pick up the car, don't Inform about all the company policies and in the end keep the deposit for breach of contract. Apparently they control the car with GPS and if the car goes off-road, that's a breach of policy. It's an absolute SCAM. I am apalled you still your together.

Pros: There was no service provided apart from the cancelation process.

Cons: Extra costs

Pros: Simple and straightforward

Cons: The location was incorrect on Google maps and that was all we had to go on. Considering there are about a dozen different rental agencies in the same spot all with their entire fleets sitting there we had to go for a walk around. Normally that's fine, but it's a bit tedious when dragging luggage with you.

Pros: things got done fast

Cons: Didn't get the car I reserved.

Pros: Courteous and friendly service.

Cons: Gas was not full. Makes it much harder to return with same amount of gas! Simply not renter friendly!

Pros: Nice, friendly, clean brand new car, fast. Very cheap compared to other sellers.

Cons: I'm splitting hair here, but I reserved a Nissan Quashqai and I got a Peugeot 2008, I know that it is common to swap cars with an equivalent or superior model. The new P 2008 felt superior in many ways (newer model), but it looked like a downgrade in term of boot space (400l rather than 500l). Eventually we managed to do almost fine with space despite travelling everyday to new locations with lots of baggages.

Pros: Nothing

Cons: Scam!

Pros: The car was new and very comfortable The team on site were as fast as they could be which made pick up as efficient as resourcing allowe (1 man running solo that day).

Cons: Lack of flexibility or understanding regarding the situation that lead to an unfair €300 penalty. The GPS identified our mistake and the fine was unquestionable, in spite of the circumstances

Pros: The plane was delayed and even though I called Abbey to warn them and they agreed to waiting They closed and then re rented the car to another in the morning

Cons: Will never - NEVER - use AbbyCar again. See trustpilot review here (AlanC) : https://uk.trustpilot.com/review/abbycar.com Others think the same - 84% of reviews are 1/5. See also review in Facebook - awful reviews - and tripadvisor - again, awful. These people are crooks.

Pros: The car was new and confortable

Cons: The service wasn't clear about the off road... Only asking several time they told us which destinations wasn't reachable by car

Pros: It was close to the airport. It only took 5 min too walk. We were No. 1 in line, so thats Good. They 2 people at the counter office were nice

Cons: They have some systems downbreak, so it took some times with the mastercard and also have some printer problems.

Pros: Kindly woman

Cons: A smaller car

Pros: I did not have to clean the car on return

Cons: They have satelite monitoring of the cars, if drive on gravel road, thay find thru satelite, you have to pay penalty of 300Eur

Pros: Courtesy of the receptionist

Pros: We really enjoyed our stay in Crete, what started with a great interaction with Costas who helped us with the booking and the round of the car. He’s super kind and friendly and knows a lot about the island, the company and has a good heart. Did you know he is a dj? Awesome! Thanks again Costas!

Cons: Nothing

Pros: Thorough and comprehensive. I really liked that additional drivers could be added free of charge and the premium included excess cover

Cons: Nothing

Cons: After a week my deposito €1250 is stil reservat on my visa credit card. I think you must give it free on the same day that we bring the car back

Cons: They forced me to pay extra € 160 when leaving a deposit in cash claiming that they need to cover "tax costs".

Pros: Nothing

Cons: I didn't get my car

A fuir 1000 fois!!

Pros: Nothing.

Cons: VERY BAD SERVICE. After almost two months I still haven't seen the deposit refunded; they claim to have done so but both the bank and the credit card manager claim otherwise. For a few days they have not responded to my emails, I will have to file a complaint with the local authorities and report a possible fraud to the credit card manager for the refund of the amount.

Pros: Best price (but still more expensive than in Kos)

Cons: No complaint

Pros: Quick and friendly

Cons: ---

Pros: .

Cons: Abby car doesn't want to provide a service, is only interested on making its own business (I found people claiming both a at picking and drop off the car, for different reason).

Cons: I have hired the full insurance, and still I had to pay extra when i arrived, for car towing services, handling paperwork, etc. Also, there was a note saying "NO OFF-ROAD"... in Crete, where some beaches only have access through unpaved roads.

Cons: Only 1 person on duty long waiting time.

Cons: not acceptance of wifes credit card as a security

Pros: Not advised to use if you plant to go outside asfalt roads

Cons: Just be ready for strick rules of rental.
