Ace Rent a car at Kahului Airport

Pros: The car we requested was not available so we we given a larger one for no extra cost. We had a thorn in a tire so were given a new car extra fast. Did not spend any extra time with no car or argument over what was needed to get us back to vacationing.

Cons: Val was fantastic.

Pros: The woman at the counter was quick and courteous. I will definitely rent here again!

Cons: The car became unable to drive straight at speed.

Cons: I HAD NO WAY TO GET BACK TO THE AIRPORT BECAUSE THEY DID NOT RUN SHUTTLE SERVICE THAT EARLY IN THE MORNING.

Pros: Efficient, didn't push "extras" over the top.

Cons: Hours for shuttle service were not perfectly convenient for our schedule, but location wasn't far from airport so it worked out fine for us.

Cons: It took to long to get picked up at the airport. Couldn't get a live person on the phone, only a recording.

Pros: Minivan was clean, low mileage, and inexpensive. The people were friendly and helpful. Would definitely use Ace again over the big name brands.

Cons: I prepaid IN FULL. Fight was delayed by the airline. You had my flight info. I tried to call you did not answer. I finally reached you and let you know I was going be delayed due to airline. Your shuttle was also late in picking us up. When arrived, we were told that we were late and my pre-paid car was not available and I had to pay another $220 for an "upgrade" with no other choice. After 8 hours of travel and delays with exhausted family this was extortion & a hostage situation. HORRIBLE

Cons: The car selection. I had reserved a midsized sedan, but when we arrived all that was available was a minivan.

Pros: Nothing. I will never rent with ace again.

Cons: They were unable to provide the car similar to what I reserved. When I asked for a refund in the difference of the price, approximately $50 reflected on their website, it was refused and I was told that it was actually an upgrade which was impossible because the website showed it was a cheaper car. While at the front desk I showed them that the car they claimed would be an upgrade was actually the same price as what I reserved , I was told there was nothing they could do.

Cons: Car and shuttle services that were provided were not as advertised/booked.

Pros: Need to be available to support traveling from airport better. No answering the phone, and conflicting information not good.

Cons: The service was fine. The car was dented and scratched in many places and not clean.

Pros: The shuttle driver was so personable and friendly. Clearly loved her job.

Cons: Our front desk person was remote and on a computer.

Pros: First rental car (Chrysler Voyager) we had was great! Amenities and upkeep on the car were top notch.

Cons: Second rental car we had was starting to show some wear and tear. Seat belts didn't tighten, older features that just stood out much more as being dated after having the Voyager. Initial check in for first rental took us over an hour with the lines.

Pros: The price was competitive with other companies.

Cons: We had ants all over the inside of the car when we picked it up. Many scratches on the vehicle and nobody checked the car over before we drove off.

Pros: 1. Very clear instructions on where to find the shuttle. AND the shuttle was there when we arrived. 2. Quick in and out at the rental desk. 3. Nissan Altima was in excellent condition. 4. Return was quick and attendant found and returned an item we accidentally left in the car. 5. Online communication was timely and effective. 6. First time ever to rent a car with built-in GPS at no extra cost.

Cons: 1. discovered a warning light (Gas cap loose) which had probably been caused when the last person to gas up the car had caught part of the cap attachment cable in the threads while screwing the cap back on. 2. We were switched from a mid sized to a full sized, so it cast us a little more for gas and was a little less easy to park (but I didn't ask for the mid sized instead when we picked it up). 3. We could have used a guide to the Nissan Altima GPS. It was different from any we used before.

Cons: Tire warning, needed air. Took time to find it and extra cost. Window washer fluid was empty.

Pros: Checking in was great and seamless. Fast and efficient. Checking out, the agent was anything but helpful.

Cons: Agent at desk would not assist in waiving fee for extra day charge. Kinda rude and clearly didn’t have very good customer service skills.

Cons: Replaced the reserved SUV without notice. Washer liquid empty. We got the oil change indicator the day we were heading to 10000 feet tall mountain.

Cons: See above and also provide a place to leave the vehicle when it is closed. I had to park in the Krispy Kreme parking lot next door.

Pros: The availability of a simple small car

Cons: The airport pickup was a bit chaotic. There’s no clear order of who’s in line first. We got crowded out and missed the first van. Then on the next van we were first in line and people were pushing their way past us. There should be some kind of order so people don’t get into a fight.

Pros: Everyone was friendly and efficient.

Pros: both front desk and the receiving people were very pleasant.

Cons: The only thing that bothered me was that the jeep we rented, was a brand new, but the windshield from inside still had manufacturing paper and glue residue, that I had to personally remove portion of it.

Cons: 5-15 min car rental service due to all paperwork. dropping off and taking shuttle back to airport was 2 min thing. Super quick and fast. Very friendly staff

Cons: The windshield inside the car was really dirty that it made it hard to drive at times and really that was the only thing so we pretty much liked everything.

Cons: They willingly allowed me to rent a vehicle and charge me for it “after hours”, but the location was closed. They would not modify my rental agreement as I was prepaid.

Cons: At first, they gave us a car which did not look good. It had a lot of scratches and small dents as well as missing body trim parts.

Cons: Wait for shuttle and wait for counter service and time spent finishing the rental added up to a loss of time on a tired first day of travel/vacation.
