Pros: Arrived at airport a bit late as weather was bad. Every other firm had representatives to meet their customers. No one from Addcar !! Rang the two numbers provided but answer phone message saying the office is shut and to ring back in the morning We had a hotel booked 2 hours away so had to hire another car at short notice in the airport! Obviously this was a lot hire price than i had agreed with Addcars Hertz car rental where excellent and ewe had a car within 20 mins. Use Hertz 👍👍👍

Cons: Not getting a car as organised!! And being left stranded at the airport at 2200hrs

Pros: The car performed and had cruise control which was great for Iceland.

Cons: Their deposit policy of not releasing the money back at the end of the return is unacceptable. Shuttle service was not available for about 1 hour after arrival. Took taxi instead. The car itself had a check engine light after 2 days, had sand in the brakes, and had two windshield wipers in need of replacement. I would not hire them again.

Pros: The woman at checkout made the experience Smooth, without any problems

Cons: The man that picked us up at the airport was off putting and made it seem like we were inconveniencing him. He pushed the premium insurance on us and would not let us drop the car off at a later time( two hours later) without charging us an additional day. We were told by another attendant it would be fine when I called ahead. When I checked again, when dropping the car off, we were told that it would have been fine to drop the car off at a later time. He was the only one that threatened us.

Cons: The pick up took time. More than 1 hour. The location of the company is very far from the airport, they took a long time to come to pick up. the hidden charges are a lot. They blocked my card for more than 2000 euro. I still don’t know what will they charge me. They don’t open at night I had to return the car one day before because of that. They provide airport pick up and drop off only.

Cons: The shuttle service did not come to pick us up at the airport,we had to pay extra money for taxi to get to the hotel,and pay another fee for picking up the car the next day,even though it wass the add cars fault they did not appear at the airport,the staff were arrogant and I will never choose this car rental again.

Pros: Airport transfer

Cons: The car wasn’t maintained properly (overdue service and it was pulling to the right) and I got charged a day after the took the car back, checked it and said everything was OK due to “underbody damage” I have received no invoice, no pictures, nothing and they don’t answer my emails. Will pursue legal actions.

Cons: Service, attitude, rudeness, personal documents of other customers details left on tables for me to see. Extra money paid had to pay £256 extra for same quality of car as car I ordered not available. Hired a lot of cars and this was worse experience.

Cons: No one exactly remembers how to use the software. You have to ask for the final receipt. It does not state that car is returned undamaged, no signature and date. You have to ask again, and will be allowed to photograph the notes on the contract.

Pros: Agents were nice and apologetic about their delay.

Cons: Upon our arrival: no agent, no answers… just a voicemail. Finally, after 45 min someone showed up. The car was a disaster! The hood flapped in the storm. We had to stop twice to close it. After a day, all warning lights turned on. We contacted the office… no reply! Would not use their service again.

Pros: They were very friendly and when I had to leave the car they were really understanding about the circumstances,as I had to leave the car at airport car park to catch my flight. I had to pay for that car park and handling of the vehicle but it was only entirely justified And fairly priced.

Cons: May be the car could be a bit nicer, the car we got had some visible damage from previous customers, but with the driving conditions in Iceland and inexperienced drivers for these particular conditions , it is understandable.

Pros: The man who came to check on the broken car, was very nice. Called every time. Said that their 2 Tucson had the same problems. Both broke down. So after 3x calling and waiting for 5 h, the car was changed to a Renault.

Cons: Waited more then 1 h at the airport. Car broke down, called Lava Cars at 19.00 h. Man who answered the phone (only speak English) didn’t take it serious. Said to call back in 10 min. Didn’t! After 30 min I called him again. He didn’t again take it serious, so I told him that we don’t drive with the Tucson anymore. He again said that he called us back, he had to speak with the manager. Already 22.30… no calls… In the morning I called again. Then a man (Icelandic) came to check on the car.

Free cancellation with a full refund up to 48 hours before your pick-up time, Unlimited mileage, Collision Damage Waiver (deductible: € 3000.00), Theft Protection, Roadside Assistance (in the country of pick-up), Third Party Liability (TPL), Airport surcharge, Premium Location fee, Road tax, Free modifications, State Tax.
Driver requirements
Minimum rental age is 23 years.
A Young driver fee is not applied.

Maximum rental age is 75 years.
A Senior driver fee is not applied.

The driver license must have been issued by authorized authorities at least 2 year(s) before the date of the commencement of the rental.

A driver license printed using a non-Roman alphabet (Arabic, Japanese, Cyrillic, etc) must be supplemented by an International Driving Permit.
Please note that the International Driving Permit is valid only if accompanied by the regular driver license.

In addition to documents mentioned previously, the customer will need the following: valid driver license, credit card on a main drivers name, Passport or ID card, booking voucher.
Deposit and deductible policy
A deposit will be blocked on the customer's credit card and will be released within 30 days after drop-off.
Payment policy
The following credit cards issued on the main driver's name are accepted: MasterCard, Visa. Any other cards or cash payments are not accepted.

The main driver must provide a physical payment card in their name with enough funds to cover the deposit to pick up the car. The rental company will neither accept virtual credit cards (e.g., GooglePay or ApplePay) nor someone else’s card (including family members).
Optional extras and services
Available special equipment: GPS Navigation system, Baby seat (up to 1 year of age), Booster seat (4-10 years of age).
Prices for extras are shown on the booking page.

Adding additional drivers is allowed.
There is an additional charge for each driver.
When picking up the vehicle, all drivers must be present and must provide valid documentation.

Additional charges will be applied.
Delivery/Collection service is available only by previous request.
Fuel policy
The vehicle is provided with a full tank of fuel and must be returned with the same amount in order to avoid additional charges.
Additional information
By law, winter tires are mandatory on all roads from 01.11 to 15.04.
Snow chains are allowed in icy/snowy conditions.
Business hours
Service outside of business hours is free of charge.

Period of time, during regular working hours, when the car is still guaranteed for the customer, if the customer is late for pick up (the grace period) is 59 minutes.
