Adocar Rental at Cancun Airport

Cons: These people are dishonest criminals. Stay far away.

Pros: Friendly people

Cons: Nobody was waiting for us at arrival on the airport. We had to call them first and the lady on the phone didn’t speak good English.

Cons: I took us 30 minutes waiting at the airport for the Adocar representative to show up. And then, additional 45 minutes to get to the Adocar office. After 1,5hs of wait, they didn’t give us the car. It was 10 pm and we were left in a remote logistics center with no transportation or way to get out

Pros: Sales man was a scam they wanted us to put 15 thousand dollars down for a security deposit

Cons: They were scamming they said we only can pay in cash and they doubled the price

Pros: Clean, nice car. Reasonably quick drop off process.

Cons: Charged more than double the rate quoted. Even though we had documentation of full insurance coverage through our Credit Card and also our Travel insurance. Also it took an hour and a bunch of hassle to actually get to the rental location, then another hour to actually get the car. Big waste of time and big waste of money.

Cons: There were multiple things.. outside overall view of the car was that was that paint was heavily scratched all around (same as in the booth), car mats does not belong the car we were given, and multiple interior parts that doesn't seem to belong to that car.

Cons: Pretty much everything - dreadful company. Even dropping off the car after the rent was a slow and inefficient experience.

Cons: On t’oblige à prendre une assurance alors qu’on en a déjà pris une avec discover car. Le prix a plus que doublé ! La voiture est passée de 300€ a 650€ !! C’est du jamais vu. 3 personnes devant nous à l’agence, 3 personnes qui gueulaient parce qu’ils devaient payer plus que ce qui était prévu! Ils te disent, l’assurance avec discover te couvre ca mais par contre il faut prendre une assurance qui te couvre on ne sait quoi si tu veux prendre la voiture! C’est une honte !

Pros: We arrived slightly after our drop off time due to traffic, but there were no issues. In fact they arranged a quick personal transfer in a car to the airport for us, to ensure we didn't miss our flight.

Pros: Not much to like about the service

Cons: Took ages to get picked up from the airport, then half an hour ride to the depot. The car was supposed to be a brand new Citroen SUV "or similar". The "or similar" was an old Ford Focus. Usual spiel about needing additional insurance on top of the full insurance I already had. Finally, there was nobody present at the depot to drop off the car - I had to wait for 45 min on the last day of my holiday - not impressed.

Cons: There was no representative to pick you up at the airport, no way to call, and then they automatically cancel your reservation when you're 30min late WITHOUT a refund so you are stuck at the airport.

Pros: The car was clean and drove well

Cons: I got charged extra for insurance fee and the language barrier made it hard for the rep to explain is self to me

Cons: Really slow picking it up, partly because of waiting for an available employee and partly because of the endless bureaucracy and options.

Cons: Tried to charge 1000 pesos for a very small amount of sand in the car.

Pros: We were charged £50 ‘transaction fee’ to pay the deposit on a different card when we arrived to collect the car. Complete scam.

Cons: I didn’t like having a confirmed reservation and they being told it was cancelled and they didn’t have a car for me.

Cons: The car had no water for the screen wipes. When I landed at the airport to pick up the car there was no representative available. Only after 40 mins after calling the Helpdesk the representative came to pick us up and drive us to the rental location.

Cons: They didn't keep their word, they closed the office earlier as they should have closed so I could pick up the car on the next day only and I lost time and money. When somebody scratched the car they charged me 2600 pesos but when I asked them to send me the description why they charged me they have never sent it. Tricky, scam company.

Cons: service people were unprofessional and incompetent. They didn{t give me what I ordered and tried to charge me about twice as much as I had signed up for.

Cons: Hidden fees. Terrible car. Spare tire. Would not lock. No headlights. Engine light was on.

Cons: The car was full of damage. Not clean, the Windshield wipers didn’t functionate well.

Pros: Cheap rate but why compare if the price you get is different at the end !

Cons: When you pick up the car, they'll make you a new contract trying to rip off as much as possible. They doubled the amount of cash to pay in case of accident. But the worst was when time came to pay for the rent. They told me it would be in pesos (which is fine) showing me the rate in usd and i say yes. So they write a new amount in pesos in their contract. But what they don't say is they do there own rate in converting the amount (which i didn't check). Result, i ended up paying 10% more in total

Cons: When I arrived to Cancun airport I spent so much time waiting. When I could borrow a phone from a local and I could call the rent car office: my reservation had been cancelled! They said because “I was late” I was an hour late but it never happened in all the times I rented a car throughout the world that they cancelled my reservation. I can’t be at noon on time. Sometimes flight got delayed or whatever happens, you have a reservation made to be pick up!

They tried to scan both sides of our credit card, erased un purpose my signature from the credit card they tried to scan and wanted us to sign a v Piece of oler saying that they could withdraw $30.000 from our account as assurance from damages without stating for which conditions they could do that

Cons: Flight was delayed a few hours, stuck on the tarmac and could not contact them. They gave away our car, kept the deposit, could not give us another. When I first called to get them to pick us up (no one was at the airport) they told us we needed to pay and extra $200 for insurance, even if we purchased their maximum insurance. After we agreed to this, then they told us it was too late there was no car for us. WHAT A SCAM.

Cons: 1) First of all the car agency was outside the airport and very hard to find. I was lost for almost an hour trying to find this place.You should put a label warning mentioned this detail. 2) Then they charged me way more money for the rental with the excuse that I have to pay insurance which when I’ve always rent a car my credit card covers everything. I decline the insurance and they said if I don’t pay I will not get the car so I had to move forward with the rental because a I need it the car

Cons: Never received car from Adocar. The location was completely closed and unreachable over phone on the day I arrived there for pickup. Complete scam.

Pros: They cancelled my reservation and gave the car to someone else. When I arrived they had no car for me and wouldn’t help me get another car. They even wouldn’t reimburse me for the reservation.

Cons: We did not even get the car because the prices were outrageous. They offered us a car we didnt even reserve.

Cons: I had an insurance proclamation from my CIBC Aventura card, They said they would not accept it, then they said they would not accept it because it didn't have a bank stamp, who does that ? everything these days is by internet includung renting a car. they made me pay for the insurance before I could take the car,, what a scam !!, I checked with the company and they checked specifically that I would be covered in Mexico and Cancun, do not rent from them !!

Cons: They didnt have any cars available despite my reservation, yet didnt tell me this on the phone when I landed, but rather sent the shuttle to pick me and bring me there just to tell me there was no car. Wasted over an hour and had to pay for taxi.

Cons: We were called the day before by someone with Max car rental. We then found out that that company doesn’t exist, and we needed to be at Adocar. The people at Adocar had never heard of Max car rental. It was very confusing.

Pros: The person who collected us from the airport was both friendly and helpful.

Cons: The first car they gave us had a faulty rear seatbelt, and numerous scratches on the car which we painstakingly logged. The second car had a broken light, it had numerous scratches which had to be logged again, and one of the number plates was missing. We were told if we were stopped, just give the other number plate to the police. Wouldn't this mean we would be driving a car illegally then? At the end, they tried to fine us for petrol being short, which it was not. Cheap car hire, extra hassle!

Cons: They try to sell me the all the insurance they have. The amount of my rent was aprox 50 usd but with all the insurances they almost obligated me to buy it cost 180 usd. After i buy it i find they are not mandatory. It was the last time i rent a car with adocar.
