Americars Auto Rental at Orlando Airport

Pros: The bus service was very efficient and the drivers very helpful.

Pros: Offsite, we had to wait ages for a bus. I had to make several expensive calls to ascertain whaf was happening. Girl had inaudible accent on lousy cheap phome line. Worst experience ever

Cons: We put the address of the rental agredement in our TomTom, but it was nowhere near. Rang them and line was inaudible. Rang 4 times more to be cutoff. Eventually got through and they had moved to new address.

Pros: Drop off was fairly straightforward despite the address being incorrect on the voucher - luckily I remembered the general area of where I had to get an Uber to to pick up initially

Cons: Address was wrong, had to get an Uber there, car rear light was smashed, tank was half empty, sunpass was missold, agent was hard to contact, address was wrong on drop off, agent wouldn’t give written email of confirmation of happiness of condition of car on return and just said she’ll sent contract agreement instead to my email. Overall really poor - the only plus side was the car didn’t break down and the condition inside was good.

Pros: The staff were polite and I believed informative but trust can sometime be misplaced. The rep I met gave me advice on tolls and explained the would be a daily charge for app $10 and cost per toll or I could hire a sat-nav @ $50 for the fortnight and avoid tolls. I trusted the sat nav as I never intended using the toll roads as I had only ever been through a few on my previous several visits. Alas the first few days were a nightmare, the sat nav failed on many occasions!

Cons: The car was excellent, clean inside and out, well serviced and had a tank full of fuel.

Cons: Overpriced, and too many little add ins that aren’t included in the quote, for instance $10 a day to activate the automatic toll.

Cons: Service at pickup was a little slow but we were late arriving due to baggage delay at the airport. There was confused because Americars had just changed their shuttle supplier and neither they nor the address on the confirmation email matched what was correct.

Cons: My flight was delayed, but they did not hold the car size I wanted. Instead of a compact car, I was given an enormous SUV. It cost me $60 to fill up. The car tires needed inflating, and no one was at the desk when I went to return the car.

Cons: Employee forgot to add the additional driver, which caused some annoyance during our trip. We had planned to arrive a day earlier. Our flight had been cancelled the day before. The car we rented was much more expensive tham the one we had origiinally booked.

Cons: At the pick up point A34 in Orlando Apt we called as instructed in your confirmation. This number does not work, so we whats apped it and the message back from discover cars was useless. The agent at americars checked it and confirmed it is the wrong number, but made no apology. The prepaid 3rd party liability apparently does not cover third party damages at an additional cost. I noted on 29th June the licence Tag expired on 30th. This was sent by UPS on 2nd but we lost a days use of the car

Cons: Terrible experience. So bad I cancelled the transaction after hearing at the desk of all the hidden extras and seeing the bad condition of the car that turned up. No breakdown cover (extra cost), $200 just to initiate the Automatic Toll payment system, $1000 held on my card (not sure the car was worth that much). I'd taken out the extra insurance at the time of booking with discovercars but was told this was no good. Felt I was being scammed so terminated the agreement there and then. Avoid.

Cons: I wa sold insurance that was not detailed on my rental form. I do not know what I paid for as I already had CDW included. I would like to be contacted about this.

Pros: car was filthy and was forced to either pay $1000 deposit or take out their insurance refused to inspect the car upon return as there was 20 plus other cars waiting to be inspected after being returned

Cons: It was all a bit haphazard. The shuttle took over half an hour to collect us from the airport and going back we were left in the rental car park for an hour in the sun without shade while the shuttle operators ignored the growing number of burning passengers.

Pros: I had an absolutely terrible experience with this rental car company & I ll never repeat it again.

Cons: They charged an outrageous $60 "late fee" to get the car. They claimed they would have to cancel my reservation and I'd have to go all the way back to the airport to get a car from another company if I didn't pay the fee.

Pros: The car was in good condition, the rental agreement came with photos of the car taken during the handover.

Cons: We rented a full size SUV but when we got to the rental desk they swapped it out for a minivan with the agent telling me the car was an SUV (It was a Chrysler Pacifica) and refusing to change the car. They snuck a couple extra charges in as well for some insurance not covered by full coverage and a toll device.

Pros: Pickup was ok. Agent explained he was working hard with lots of bookings that day. He explained things well and got us on our way efficiently.

Cons: Drop off lacked professionalism. Was told to leave the car in a general location by one agent then told to move it to another location by another agent. We ended up not having to move the car but it was concerning. Didn’t receive any final notification of closing out the rental (no receipt).

Cons: You should had someone in the desk when we are delivering the car back and provide a better customer care training for your desk attendants.

It was late and we were in the middle of nowhere so I begrudgingly accepted. I'd like to see this policy in writing..the girl at the desk couldn't do that. The vehicle had obviously been in an accident at some point. It wasn't very clean either. I'd never recommend Americans.

Cons: The first car rear wheel bearings were grinding. The car had significant damage called and returned car after 5 mins and had to wait 30 minutes as reception had left for the day. Second car provided was OK but dirty as not prepared. Shuttle back was just as bad and nearly caused two accidents.

Cons: The service was shockingly poor; very long wait for the shuttle, then sharply questioned for not adding additional insurance to the car (had to provide proof the my credit card company provides insurance for rental cars, which took up extra unnecessary time), no receipt was provided proving the car was returned, and the shuttle that took us back took us to terminal A instead of the terminal C we said we needed, claiming he didn't "have access" to C--adding adding 33min in additional travel time.

Pros: The lady at the Orlando desk was extremely curteous, patient and understanding with a very tired traveller who had some issues with his bank. She was extremely helpful.

Cons: We were rented a car with 2 bald front tires resulting in a puncture in one. Had a report from the official Chrysler garage stating that the car was unsafe to drive. Tried contacting Americars who have been incredibly unhelpful and have received disgusting customer service. Still no resolution or compensation. We were given and unsafe and illegal car, whilst having a child and disabled person in our party. When we eventually did get a replacement car (2 days later) it wasn’t big enough for us.

Cons: We rented a car seat for our trip that was advertised as appropriate for children between 11 and 18kg, however we were forced to take a car seat with a maximum rating of 10kg as the safest option, as the next options was a 0 to 9 years seat with the smaller child inserts missing (our child is 19 months and 11.5kg). On top of this we were charged a late fee for being a couple of hours late due to a delayed flight, even though car was rented for a two week period.

Cons: It took a long time collecting the car. When dropping off nobody was in the office and nobody advised where to meet our “courtesy bus”. The courtesy bus did not have operational seatbelts. We were late to the airport because we had been waiting for half an hour for someone at the desk. When we requested a drop at terminal C we were advised it would be an additional $20, in spite of it being your company’s fault that we were late.
