Bargain Car Rentals at Gold Coast Airport

Cons: The staff working on 26/1/2025 was very rude and forcing people to cancel their insurance which was already taken during the booking and get the new insurance from them both male and female staff were not helpful at all. I made booking through discover car and paid extra insurance but they said cancel that and get new from us.

Cons: The time to get our car exceeded our flight time. IT took 1.5 hours to get our car. Long wait at airport for shuttle bus. Then long wait in the hot sun as we queued to collect the key. The people on the desk kept pushing to top up insurance - causing further delays. When anyone complained or even raised the issue of the long wait time we were threatened with cancellation of the hire car. The car was not clean- we found a dead cockroach. I think they were overwhelmed.

An RACQ mechanic was sent out to assist and got the car going for the rest of the rental period, but I was very nervous about it breaking down again, which really took the shine off my trip. I collected taxi receipts and handed them over when I returned the car, but it remains to be seen whether the costs will be refunded to me… I certainly hope so!

Cons: There were three main issues with the car. First, the light inside the car was not working. We had to use mobile phones at night inside the car. Second, the tire pressure symbol was always on for some reason. I checked the tire pressure in a servo and kept an eye the whole journey. But not sure what happened. Third, last day of the trip, we had issues locking the car. Not sure what happened. I checked if the doors were blocked or something but could not find out the problem.

Pros: They accommate all our needs. Including our last-minute requests. The had our best interests in mind the entire time. Incredibly friendly service, including the shuttle bus driver and the reception desk during pick up and drop off.

Cons: If possible, it would be more beneficial if the navigation option was built-in to the car's existing screen rather than a mobile unit (accessory). That said, the unit that was provided did the job.

My husband, however, said he felt harassed at the depot on pick up to make a quick decision about liability insurance due to the large queue of customers also waiting. If I had been there at the depot on pick up, I would have been able to clarify our payments. Instead, he paid for Bargain Car Rentals liability cover and now we are significantly out of pocket, ironic as we went with Discover Cars as you were cheaper.

Cons: High volume at the airport + only 1 shuttle meant confusion and frustration and big queues for waiting customers, us included. Bargain Rental Cars made a quick decision to transport only 1 member of each family to their depot so only my husband went. He then had to backtrack to the airport to pick up the rest of us and we had to navigate a lot of traffic and other passengers waiting to be picked up. Bargain Car Rentals should better plan their shuttle service as they know numbers in advance.

Cons: hope to get cheaper deal in future

Pros: The whole process of renting a vehicle from Bargain Car Rentals was easy. From booking online to checking in online to organising the shuttle to and from the airport and collecting/returning the car was stress free and efficient.

Cons: Was told how to pay for tolls by receptionist, which I did myself, then also charged by Bargain Car Rentals who would not refund their charges, so I had to pay twice for two sets of tolls. Refused to help fix problem which they created

Pros: They were prompt picking us up at the airport and the process of getting the car was quick and easy. They were really friendly and helpful and offered advice. The drop off was quick and easy and the guy was happy and helpful and got us to the airport on time. Overall very happy and will use them in the future.

Cons: Shuttle took some time to arrive. When it finally did there wasn't enough room (some were left behind). The distance from the airport was significant.

Pros: the guy was really nice in the office, he even gave some activity packs to our kids and warning of speed cameras near the theme parks :-)
