Bargain Rental Cars at Christchurch Airport

Cons: Some confusion regarding insurance because I order car via Discovery made it an issue through Bargain Rentals?

Cons: Sub standard car. Taped middle arm rest. Became sticky in heat. Glove box fell out, interior plastic housing fell apart around foot pedals. clouded instrument panel.

Pros: Nothing, car had almost no brakes, chip in the windscreen when I collected that got bigger and was told thats user error.

Pros: Not much. We were glad we had a Prius hybrid. The one we got was in terrible condition.

Cons: Car was in terrible condition with scrapes and dents and over 200,000 km on the dial. There was dirty on the outside with bird poop and cobwebs. I had some duct tape holding things together. The clerk at the desk was completely uninterested in whether we were happy or not. It was the same clerk on our way out, pretty much wordless and stoic faced.

Pros: Easy pick up and drop off great service by staff. Good price the cars are ok bit old but they do the job and are mechanically sound.

Pros: The process of hiring the car and dropping it off was incredibly smooth and easy. I would 100% recommend them and use them again.

Cons: You have to lower your expectations on the type of car you're getting and the amount of pre-existing damage that will be part of it. Some pictures of the vehicle before you receive it may help to set expectations. It's by no means a horrible car but there will be dings and scratches on it.

Cons: The vehicle had a stained interior, had an awful smell and had a number of mechanical issues. There was a very loud screeching sound coming from the engine on start up that sounded like the cam belt had gone. The front left wheel caught on the body work in hard lock. The car pulled hard to the left under breaking and weridly there was no windscreen wash, quite a simple thing to get right. All in all, a terrible experience picking up an awful car.

Also the radio didn't work as the screen to show the details looked like it had a cataract!

Pros: Pick up at 00:30 was so easy and car ready to go. Drop off was also easy and quick. The car was a bit older, but in good condition and excellent value. I had chosen a Hybrid and got that so fuel costs were down too.

Pros: First of all there were no clear instructions on where to find the car, i paid extra from premium airport pick up and it was a 10 minute car ride away. Couldnt get ahold of anyone to find this out, after numerous phone calls finally got there.

After finding someone with a portable tyre pump we managed to get to a garage then to find that 3 of the tyres on the car werent even road legal. Therefor i had to pay out of my own money for new tyres and am still waiting to be paid back from bargin rentals nearly 10 days later.

Cons: - Upon arrival at Christchurch airport there was no BRC desk. Instead we got a freephone number from the information desk to call. There we rang a car rental/drop off depot that sent a mini bus to collect us. - We received a 15 year old Nissan Tiida with 110kms on it. The car had a plethora of dents, scrapes, scratches, marks on it's exterior. The car seat was torn and the drivers footwell was filthy. The cars' brakes screeched at the slighest of encouragement which was quite unnerving.

Cons: The radio system was Japanese and I couldn't read the instructions to be able to use it effectively. All songs in the duke box were in Japanese and I couldn't understand any of them. The FM radio frequency range couldn't pick up local radio stations. This meant that on my driving holiday, the radio/audio was completely ineffective - a situation totally unexpected for being in an English-speaking country.

Pros: From start to finish including communicating from the UK to NZ was outstanding in every way. Professional and honest. A very good price and trustworthy car. Shuttle drivers helpful and friendly.
