Pros: The car I would consider dangerous, the door handle got stuck on passenger door and I could have fallen out of the car. The breaks in the wet. I really had to press on them to stop. I get its budget but for the kiwi roads you need good breaks. Otherwise it was ok.

Pros: Prompt refund of the deposit.

Cons: Very old car and it got automatically locked when the Car key was inside and the door due to strong wind as I was standing outside for changing jacket. BRC didn't provide me any support and directed me to AA for support who charged me NZD 90. I expect DC to compensate or pay from the Full Insurance Cover that I took while hiring the Car. The Car also gave less mileage per litre of petrol as it was around 13 km per litre, quite low for a small compact car.

Pros: Ease of the process. The attendants were great. There were pickup and drop locations conveniently located.

Cons: The car itself was awful. The automatic windows were broken and couldn’t be rolled down, the engine roared like a jet engine, the car was dented and chipped all over, and the stereo was broken so we had no access to radio (and the car had no aux or USB hookup). At both pickup and drop off the attendants remarked their surprise that the car was hired out. The battery did die at one point and needed to be boosted at a cost of $180 to us. But at the price we paid, maybe it was to be expected.

Pros: I was very grateful that they extended the rental for an extra 3 days at the rate which I initially paid through Discover Cars

Cons: I was asked if I would take a larger car, I agreed but regretted it, using more petrol. The car had several dents and scratches, it had a strange smell, I had to stamp on the brakes for impact. Even though I filled the tank to drop of car I was asked to go and get more petrol, I could barely squeeze in a litre - that seemed unnecessary. The rep there asked me for $40 more than I had been quoted by BRC booking, when they extended the contract, disappointing that he was so uninformed.

Pros: Nothing. I’m still waiting for a fair refund for charging us $30 for a airport drop off location at Wellington. The drop off location was at some dock area that looked like a scene from The Sopranos. No shuttle to the airport. We want a $30 refund for being charge for a NON-airport car return!

Cons: Car smelled like chemicals. GPS didn’t work. Dead car battery 2 hours after leaving Auckland. Gas gauge broken. I’m 62 years old and this was the WORST rental car experience I’ve ever had. Don’t use this company. Pay more for Hertz or Budget. A nightmare!

Pros: Lovely desk staff, everything else about the company was the worst I have ever experienced with a rental company.anywhere in the world.

Cons: 1.15 hrs to collect the car. The car broke down. No one answered the help line. Was sent to a location to collect a replacement car but they couldn’t give me one in the end so I had to drive to another part of Auckland to get a different one. Enormous amounts of time wasted trying to use this company.

Rate includes
Free cancellation with a full refund up to 48 hours before your pick-up time, Unlimited mileage, Collision Damage Waiver (deductible: ~€ 1530.00), Theft Protection, Roadside Assistance (in the country of pick-up), Third Party Liability (TPL), Free modifications, State Tax.
Driver requirements
Minimum rental age is 21 years.
A young driver fee applies to drivers under the age of 25.

Maximum rental age is 80 years.
A Senior driver fee is not applied.

The driver license must have been issued by authorized authorities at least 1 year(s) before the date of the commencement of the rental.

In addition to the regular driver license, an International Driving Permit is also mandatory if the national driver license is not written in English.
Please note that the International Driving Permit is valid only if accompanied by the regular driver license.

In addition to documents mentioned previously, the customer will need the following: passport, valid driver license, credit card on a main drivers name, booking voucher, flight information.
Deposit and deductible policy
A deposit will be blocked on the customer's credit card and will be released within 30 days after drop-off. The deposit is taken at the start of the rental, to cover any additional charges incurred during the rental.
Optional extras and services
Available special equipment: GPS Navigation system, Baby seat (up to 1 year of age), Child seat (2-4 years of age), Booster seat (4-10 years of age).
Prices for extras are shown on the booking page.


Additional drivers are allowed free of charge.
Delivery/collection service is not provided.
Fuel policy
The vehicle is provided with a full tank of fuel and must be returned with the same amount in order to avoid additional charges.
Business hours
Period of time, during regular working hours, when the car is still guaranteed for the customer, if the customer is late for pick up (the grace period) is 180 minutes.
