Pros: Car was in great condition, rental process was smooth.

Cons: Your rental conditions state zero deductible, yet the agent at the desk claimed the rental is only with basic coverage and over 1000 Eur deductible. Upon return, they found a tiny scratch on the tire rim, barely 2cm long, claiming this is new damage. the scratch was so tiny, I didn't notice it upon inspecting the car when renting it. Based on the dirt and soot on the scratch, it was lilkely old but I can't prove it.

Pros: The lady was nice and gave me useful information

Cons: My plane was late (due to the lufthansa strike), but the information about my flight was sent in advance. And I was welcomed with the message that the car is no longer available and it could take 1-2-3-4 hours before they can check and see if a car will be available :)). But I was in luck and for only extra 200 EUR they found a better car :)). I was tricked but had no choice as I was with my young one.

Pros: In the round Europcar delivered a vehicle that worked after much persuading and renegotiation. I fail to see what value Discover Cars added here.

Pros: Friendly agent trying his best. System cut off and slow network delayed the registration process.

Cons: I received Jeep Rene 4xe instead of opel crosslander. Probably same range but the back space is small. Hardly took two medium luggage. We had to put the third one on front seat. Vehicle is good in general but quite weak for mountain slopes. The child seat we received was useless. It has no seat belt and 90 degrees back. Our child could not sleep and it was not safe at all.

Pros: The man attending us was nice and patient as I had an issue with my card.

Cons: The man did not seem to take into account our trip and all discussed with him when giving us the car. I didn't even know that 1.0L motors were still used and it was the most basic old cars I have ever seen, considering we did not get the cheapest car available either!

Pros: Car return was easy

Cons: The car was FULL of scratches even though we were told it was in perfect condition. There were NO rear windows or air-conditioning in the car! The agent tried to squeeze as much money from us as possible. The agent was not easily understood in English. Apparently the insurance we bought was with discoverhire and not with buchbinder who wanted more money!

Cons: There was no parking ticket in the car which caused us delay at the pick up. They charged us for winter tires which I thought was included in the price in your website. Also changed us double for POA because the car was booked through Discover car hire.

Cons: Agent was not aware of rental agreement terms. Tried to charge for extra driver until shown agreement. Agent claimed customer late for pick up and car not available (Had to take upgraded vehicle at additional 90 Euro),. Charged for winter tyres (25.20 Euros) even though included in contract. Final cost went from 170 Euro to 277.10 Euro.

Pros: They upgraded the car slightly due to the difficulties

Cons: It wasn't clear that the reservation I'd made required a credit card. I only had a debit card and therefore ended up paying for a different option which was considerably more than I had reserved. Reading through the terms and conditions it is not even clear that this should be the case.

Cons: Well first off when I made reservation though u guys it needed a prepayment of 49.31 which I immediately paypal'd to you...said I was all set, great!....paypal went through ok on my end, but apparently not on your end????have no idea why??....then, within 30 minutes I get an email saying I had not paid the 49.31?????said reservation can not be confirmed until payment??????so like a dummy I hit the pay now key in that email and put it on my credit card....stupid me....within 30 minutes I get 2nd

Pros: The van seemed very new and had a lot of sensors

Cons: The van was not in the parking spot, I had to ask a mechanic (who spoke no English) where it was. After 15 minutes he figured out it was in some other section of the garage (basement... I'm guessing it was still to be cleaned and 'ad blue' and maybe repaired (the passenger rear-wheel-fender was damaged)).

Pros: The ease of booking the rental car via internet.

Cons: As this was the first time we had been to Germany, we were totally unfamiliar about certain things such as various stickers needed to travel into other countries. The agent wasn't as explicit as I thought she should have been. Also, since neither of us speak a word of German, it would have been nice to have the vehicle manual be in not only German but English.

Pros: Quick turn around at collection

Cons: Disaster returning the car, no rep available to meet us so had to leave car with keys in ignition. Also deposit of €250 only taken from card the day after I returned it and I have been told I will have to wait 3-9 working days to get it back.

Free cancellation with a full refund up to 48 hours before your pick-up time, Mileage: 900 km per rental, Loss Damage Waiver (damage deductible: € 1200.00), Third Party Liability (TPL), Airport surcharge, Premium Location fee, Free modifications, State Tax.
Rate excludes
The following surcharges may apply: Environmental Contribution fee.
Driver requirements
Minimum rental age is 18 years.
A young driver fee applies to drivers under the age of 23.

There is no maximum age.
A Senior driver fee is not applied.

The driver license must have been issued by authorized authorities at least 1 year(s) before the date of the commencement of the rental.

For vehicles in groups Economy, Compact, Mini, Economy Elite, Compact Elite a driver license issued at least 1 years ago is required.
For vehicles in groups Standard, Luxury, Intermediate, Premium, Fullsize, SUVs, Cabrios, Special a driver license issued at least 3 years ago is required. Driver licenses will be accepted if issued in the following country(ies): United Kingdom, EU.
Driver licenses from all other countries must be accompanied with International Driving Permit (IDP).
The driver license must be written in Latin alphabet. Otherwise, the renter must provide an International Driver Permit (IDP).
Please note that the International Driving Permit is valid only if accompanied by the regular driver license. In addition to documents mentioned previously, the customer will need the following: valid driver license, credit card on a main drivers name, Passport or ID card, booking voucher, proof of home address (e.g. Utility bill).
Deposit and deductible policy
A deposit will be blocked on the customer's credit card and will be released within 30 days after drop-off.
The exact deposit is determined on pick up since the amount is dependent on the type of vehicle.
Payment policy
At the time of pick up, customers will be required to pay the amount of the rental.
It is possible to pay and leave the deposit only with the following payment methods: Diners, MasterCard credit card, VISA credit card, American Express credit card.

Debit cards, Prepaid cards is/are not accepted.

The main driver must provide a physical payment card in their name with enough funds to cover the deposit to pick up the car. The rental company will neither accept virtual credit cards (e.g., GooglePay or ApplePay) nor someone else’s card (including family members).
Cross-border policy
Cross border rentals are allowed only upon previous request.

Crossing country borders is allowed to the following countries: Austria, Belgium, Croatia, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, France, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain-Mainland, Sweden, Switzerland, United Kingdom.
crossing country borders is forbidden for certain car groups.

In the event that Cross Border & Territorial Restrictions are violated, all protections lose their validity.
Optional extras and services
Available special equipment: GPS Navigation system, Baby seat (up to 1 year of age), Child seat (2-4 years of age), Booster seat (4-10 years of age), Snow chains, Winter tires.

Adding additional drivers is allowed.
There is an additional charge for each driver.
Underage additional drivers are subject to both Young Driver and Additional Driver fees.
When picking up the vehicle, all drivers must be present and must provide valid documentation.

During winter season (from 01.11 until 31.03) Winter tires are included in price.

Additional charges will be applied.
Fuel policy
The vehicle is provided with a full tank of fuel and must be returned with the same amount in order to avoid additional charges.
Additional information
Winter tires are mandatory in icy/snowy conditions from 01.11 to 31.03.
Snow chains are recommended in icy/snowy conditions, especially when traveling in mountainous areas.
Business hours
Service outside of business hours is available by request and for an additional charge.
Period of time, during regular working hours, when the car is still guaranteed for the customer, if the customer is late for pick up (the grace period) is 29 minutes.
