Cons: The Operations Clerk that booked us in and out was rude and arrogant, the worst customer service that we received on our entire 10 day trip of Ireland. Felt like he didn’t want to be there. The location at Drumconda office was so busy and only has a single entry point off the main arterial road was a nightmare to get in and out of. Most stressful part of the entire driving experience.

Pros: The geezer (could think of a worse word but best leave the swear words out of it) staring me down and charging multiple hidden fees and being a total prick. Great start to a holiday.

Cons: Broken model. 1) Hidden fees 2) Insurance product is ridiculous taking a 2000 euro charge if you don’t take their ridiculous insurance excess reduction product 3) credit cards are a thing of the past.

Pros: Zero flexibility or help. When the first credit card rejected due only having a €2000 limit, we needed to add an additional driver at cost who had a hight credit card limit. We needed to sped an additional €77.

Cons: There was no help or suggestions, our only option was to spend more money (for an additional driver) or cancel the booking.

Pros: Clean vehicle, efficient service.

Cons: Vehicle delivered with malfunctioning tire pressure sensor which caused low pressure warning light to come on despite apparent normal tire pressures. Problem was known to Budget rental agents as they warned us about it. Correcting the issue prior to delivering the car would have been more appropriate. Also, the vehicle was delivered with not quite a full tank of gas (about 7/8s full).

Pros: Quick and easy pick up and drop off.

Cons: The representative was very kind and patient, but there was a slight accent/language barrier which didn't help when I had to choose what kind of insurance I wanted on the car (even though I already chose full coverage, I still needed to essentially confirm that in the office). It all ended up just fine, I was just a little confused when I got there and coupling that with having some difficulty understanding the gentleman didn't help.

Cons: We got a flat tire and the tire repair kit was missing the compressor/parts. So we were stuck in the middle of nowhere and lost a full day of our holiday waiting for AA to come and patch the tire.

Cons: Budget have introduced a fee for travelling to different countries in a rented vehicle. I can understand why they should choose to do this, however I cannot in Ireland. They class travelling to Ulster as travelling to a different country and they charge for the privilege. This is a sensitive issue for people from the north and I do not believe that Budget have the right policy here. This fee was not advertised either anywhere whilst booking. Otherwise I would have not booked.

Free cancellation with a full refund up to 48 hours before your pick-up time, Unlimited mileage, Collision Damage Waiver (deductible: € 2000.00), Theft Protection, Roadside Assistance (in the country of pick-up), Third Party Liability (TPL), Airport surcharge, Premium Location fee, State Tax.

The following surcharges may apply: Accident Administration fee, Administrative fee.
Driver requirements
Minimum rental age is 25 years.
A Young driver fee is not applied.

Maximum rental age is 75 years.
A Senior driver fee is not applied.

The driver license must have been issued by authorized authorities at least 2 year(s) before the date of the commencement of the rental.

In addition to the regular driver license, an International Driving Permit is also mandatory if the driver license is written in a language other than that of the renting country and/or in characters that cannot be read in the renting country.
Please note that the International Driving Permit is valid only if accompanied by the regular driver license.

In order to pick up the car, the renter and each additional driver must present the following documents: passport, credit card, valid driver license, booking voucher, photocard driving license.
Deposit and deductible policy
A deposit will be charged on the renter's credit card through the end of the rental period.
Payment policy
At time of pick up, customers will be required to pay the amount of the rental and a deposit.
The following credit cards issued on the main driver's name are accepted: MasterCard, Visa, American Express. Any other cards or cash payments are not accepted.
All credit cards must be capable of the following: PIN verification; cards without this capability will not be accepted.

The main driver must provide a physical payment card in their name with enough funds to cover the deposit to pick up the car. The rental company will neither accept virtual credit cards (e.g., GooglePay or ApplePay) nor someone else’s card (including family members).
Cross-border policy
Cross border rentals are allowed only upon previous request.
Additional charges will be applied in case the car is crossing state or region borders.
Crossing country borders is allowed to the following country: Northern Ireland.

In the event that Cross Border & Territorial Restrictions are violated, all protections lose their validity.
Optional extras and services
Available special equipment: GPS Navigation system, Child seat (2-4 years of age), Booster seat (4-10 years of age).
Prices for extras are shown on the booking page.

Adding additional drivers is allowed.
There is an additional charge for each driver.
When picking up the vehicle, all drivers must be present and must provide valid documentation.

All extras are available at the rental counter. Prices vary, depending on the rental period.

Delivery/collection service is not provided.
Fuel policy
The vehicle is provided with a full tank of fuel and must be returned with the same amount in order to avoid additional charges. A deposit for a tank of fuel is required upon pick up.
Additional information
In case of renting at the airport location, the customer must provide a valid flight number in order to make a reservation.

Winter tires are not mandatory in Ireland.
Snow chains are allowed in icy/snowy conditions.
Rental period
The maximum rental period per agreement is 14 days.
If the renter would like to extend the rental period, renter should return to the car hire office at the end of the rental period to sign a new agreement.
Business hours
Service outside of business hours is not available.

Period of time, during regular working hours, when the car is still guaranteed for the customer, if the customer is late for pick up (the grace period) is 29 minutes.
