CATH CAR RENTAL
Sometimes stylized in all caps, CATH is a car rental company operating in the island nation of Mauritius, one of the most popular travel destinations in all of the Indian Ocean. In Mauritius, the highly-rated business serves the country’s international airport as well as delivering vehicles to hotels and other locations.
CATH won our Excellent Service Award in both 2023 and 2024 for its Mauritius Airport location. As is the case with most rental companies in Mauritius, the company does not accept debit cards, so renters need to have a credit card in order to leave the security deposit.
If you’re planning to travel to the relatively nearby island of Réunion, an overseas territory of France, be aware that there are no regular ferries. Instead, you’ll have to fly between the islands and rent a different vehicle on each one. Also, it’s worth mentioning that unlike on Reunion, on Mauritius, you drive on the left-hand side of the road.
