Centauro
Celebrating its 50th birthday in 2023, Centauro is one of the most notable Spanish car rental companies. Based in the beautiful coastal city of Valencia, it has a presence all over the Spanish mainland, as well as in the tourist meccas that are the Canary and Balearic archipelagos. The company started out in the resort town of Benidorm which is part of the Valencian Community, with its initial fleet consisting of six yellow Seat 600s (now known as a popular vintage car). Nowadays, Centauro’s fleet is made up of more than 40,000 rental vehicles that include SUVs, vans, and hybrid cars. The company’s CEO is Erik Devesa.
In addition to Spain, Centauro has expanded to a number of other countries in the Mediterranean region and can be found in various cities in Portugal, Greece, and Italy. Having a presence in all of the main international airports in the aforementioned countries, it also has offices in city centers and train stations.
Centauro is highly rated by DiscoverCars.com’s customers, who give it especially high marks for such aspects of the rental car experience as the cleanliness of Centauro’s vehicles, the time spent dropping off a vehicle, and the overall condition of Centauro’s cars. Some destinations where Centauro is especially highly rated include Thessaloniki Airport in Greece, Bergamo Airport in Italy, Faro Airport in the Portuguese region of Algarve, and Alicante and Barcelona–El Prat Airports in Spain. Furthermore, Centauro has also been named the best car rental company in Spain by the Spanish Association of Business Travelers.
