City Car Rental at Keflavik Airport

Cons: There was no service and we never got the car

Pros: Convenient enough location for drop-off; economical price, straightforward terms and check-out.

Cons: Finding rep at Keflavik airport was not easy.

Cons: Predatory company, inticing users on low price, then charging per mile. Agent didn’t recommend unlimited miles when he knew we clearly needed them. Will never use company again.

Cons: Long lines, hidden fees, bad customer service, cheap cars with broken parts

Pros: The car was perfect for what we needed and in good condition.

Cons: Lots of hidden costs. Limited mileage not made clear and costs €350 extra. Also, generally felt like they trying to trick you. For example, additional cleaning fees and also trying to get you to purchase insurance directly through them even if you had already purchased through 3rd party company.

Pros: Fair price, friendly staff and multiple add on options.

Cons: The service did not have a clearly labeled pickup area at the airport and only had a single driver shuttling people to and from the rental location (15 mins from airport).

Pros: Car was a good size, heated seats were nice. Easy and quick at dropoff

Cons: Hard to find agent at airport, waited a long time. Took a long time at office to pick up rental. Oil light came in mid trip and radio was cutting out.

Pros: The car itself was in good condition and clean.

Cons: The service and time it took to get the car, return the car, and get between where the car was and the terminal. And the fact that it was NOT unlimited miles.

Pros: Not much.

Cons: We waited 2 hours to get our car and 2 hours to drop off our car. There were not enough staff to serve everyone. We had to get in a airport van where people were standing, crouching, sitting on laps - very unsafe - in order to get to their airport. We had to run to catch our flight - even though we got to the car drop off 3.5 hours before our flight.

Pros: They had a car for me.

Cons: Picking up the car was a lot of work. The driver was late to pick me up. The check in kiosks were broken. There was a long wait for an agent. The agent wrote down the wrong starting odometer which would have given me over 200 kilometers less to drive if i hadn't noticed.

Cons: We spent a lot of time on the airport waiting the staff.

Pros: I appreciated that this rental company picked you up at the airport and brought you to their location.

Cons: DO NOT RENT FROM THIS COMPANY!!!! Rude customer service... especially the manager ADRIAN. We had issues with our vehicle, and we were treated like we were stupid, American women. It was disgusting how poorly they spoke to us when we needed help. The car was old and junky and the GPS did not work. When the key fob broke, we were charged exorbitant fees for road side assistance and then the slap in the face was an additional 200 euros for a broken key that was already broken in the first place!!!

Cons: Car had over 158,000km on it. The checkout agent said I had 500km a day, and then when I dropped off the car they said I only had 500km total for the rental and charged an exorbitant extra fee.

Pros: Staff upon pick up was friendly and helpful.

Cons: Staff at pick up was a little curt. Process takes entirely too long to check in and check out. They need more people to do this. Waited 45 minutes at airport for shuttle to rental facility. On hold with number for 20-30 minutes and never got to speak with anyone.

Pros: Service providers were friendly and efficient.

Cons: require paying car insurance again, limited number of km per day only 100km, the surcharge is expensive, I paid 2x more than for the car

Cons: 40 minutes waitint time in airport 1,5 hours waiting time in car dealer shop No possibility to use VISA - meant extra cost Arrogance of staff Extremely poor condition of car - never seen a trashed car like that in a rental anywhere in the world. Full tank (minus consumption from Reykjavik to Keflavik) not accepted. Needle on FULL TANK.

Pros: Car was excellent; no issues, small/fast diesel with a lot of pick-up. Plenty of room for 4 plus hiking packs.

Cons: Pick-up took a very long time. Waiting 1.5 hours after international travel was too long.

Cons: The only experience I’ve ever had with rude car hire staff, both at check out and drop off. No one was at the info desk when we landed at the airport so we were wandering around like idiots looking for someone with a sign, then we rang the number and were on hold (as the “first in the queue” even) for a surprisingly long time before we got the driver. Despite dropping off the car 1hr50 mins before our flight, we almost missed it due to slow shuttle service by company.

Pros: They were flexible.

Pros: Car was brand new

Cons: Additional charges added at counter make it no longer a cost effective option. Limited mileage at only 100km/day ensures you'll go over and have to pay. They charged me $1700 for two miniscule spots of gravel damage. Smaller than a millimeter each

Cons: Once in the office, I was informed of “additional charges”.

Cons: Abandoned us at the airport, no easy way to contact them if you're foreign, no clear address listed for their business, TERRIBLE reviews online about our exact situation.

Pros: Friendly staff at drop off

Cons: Hidden charges. Broken vehicles. See’s tourists and thinks “yes we will get more money out of them”. Made us feel really small.

Pros: Very efficient

Cons: That you have to get into a van and be shuttled to the car depot. I had to leave my family at the airport whilst I dealt with the admin.
