We hired a "Luxury" people mover, and what we got was a circa 2008 vehicle, that had paint flaking off, was dirty both internally and on the exterior, had no bluetooth connectivity, had a stereo system that would have been greta if you understood Japanese/ Chinese writing, there rear seat we couldn't fold up and when we asked for assistance they tried to fix it using chopsticks and this was all before we even drove the car.

Cons: The information gathered by the company was far beyond that which would be required for a domestic hire.

I was asked to get it repaired at the nearby workshop but it was almost 4:45 pm on a Friday (Sep 6) no no workshop was willing to take up the job and there's no workshop available on weekends there. I had no choice but to drive slowly on the following day back in Christchurch for a replacement car.

Cons: The closing time (5pm) of the office however my flight was somewhat late due to mechanical issues and I was 15 minutes late and I was able to pick up my car.

Cons: Very small single person office and agent was not there when we arrived. Another client and myself were a bit anxious until the agent arrived standing in a long term are park for about 10 minutes. Car was very beat up with scratches and marks on every panel as well as a windshield chip. Agent promised to send pictures of vehicle at time of pick up, this didn’t happen.

Cons: The sideboard car’s left rear tyre was damaged at Queenstown. I tried corresponding with Discovercars.com on 7/12/22 evening but to no avails. Having no choice, I was recommended to seek nearest car repair centre, and consequently replaced with a new car at a cost of NZ$299. Please advise how can I claim car’s insurance for the tyre problem. Thanks

Pros: Fast service, happy to sort the problem, the shuttle was easy, inside the car clean they were apologetic about outside of the car

Cons: The time for the shuttle was longer than expected. However, we got there early, so no stress. understood when the shuttle got there what the hold-up was. Out of discount cars control.

Pros: We hired a Toyota Alphard. When we opened the passenger side doors which supposed sliding automatically but only one side working, the other side we required manually. The car had lots minor Scratch marks over the body and the interior carpets & car seats were very dirty. We hired a GPS system but Discount Car gave us a very old model TomTom. It’s screen was unclear and very small. Then end up we asked for refund

Cons: The first car was lousy. Aircon not working. We wasted some of our traveling time to get it fix but cannot be done due to other complication.
