Pros: Good value

Cons: Didn't like the way the refueling option was pitched - I thought it would cover the cost (at market prices) to refill the gas tank to full when I arrived and that's why I selected - I found out after the fact that all I did was purchase a full tank of gas (whether I used it all or not is irrelevant) - I was duped.

Pros: Drop off is relatively easy in a covered car park. The dollar representatives dealing directly with the cars in the parking area were friendly.

Cons: Terrible customer service, rude or disinterested staff, adding costs without explanation, lying that they were giving me a better gas price when I'd already booked to return the car of full, not enough staff at rental desk leading to queues. Initial car had a large windscreen crack & the exit attendant was rude & intimidating.

Cons: 1 hour wait to rent the car.. they gave me an electric car with NO instructions on how to charge it I complained to company with ref# nothing has been done. no charging stations close by. drive 2 hours out of my way to find one the cost was more then the gas absolutely worst rental car experience of my life

Pros: Friendly

Cons: The line to rent a car had easily 75 people in front of me and about the same behind me. I didn't feel like Dollar had enough agents to deal with all of us efficiently. Then I had to wait downstairs for a car. The car I got had a "maintenance" message for an oil change.

Pros: Drop off was very easy and painless

Cons: After we reached the Rental Car Center Pavilion at IAH, Houston it took us ONE HOUR to get to the counter for paperwork. When we went out to get our car we stood ONE MORE HOUR to actually get a car. At least the counter area was air conditioned but had inadequate seating/chairs around. Garage was covered but had no fans and obviously no AC! As people returned the car they had rented, they were driven off for a quick clean and brought right back for people like us who were waiting in the heat.

Cons: Dollar Car Rental at Houston International Airport frustrated me by closing early and charging me for an upgrade not indicated on my booking site. The next day, only one staff member was available to assist customers, leading to a long wait time. The car I chose had pre-existing damage not documented, leaving me worried about proving it upon return. Though the staff member was polite, I waited over an hour and a half to get my car. I suggest looking for a different car rental company with better

Pros: NOTHING - even the drop off was difficult to find. We were overcharged and customer service was unreachable by phone regarding the overcharge. There was no resolution to the overcharge even when we approached the desk in person after returning the car. Their desk staff was rude when queried about the surcharges and wouldn't even offer their names, to assist in a more informed complaint. Surcharges of $300 instead of $139 for a vehicule upgrade

Cons: They overcharged for the upgrade. Instead of the $139 quoted by "Trina" they charged $300 after talking us into the upgrade. Deplorable and fraudulent customer service. Resolution was impossible as they were unreachable by phone and rude in person.

Cons: I am extremely angry with Dollar car rental. The clerk at the desk did not tell me that I had to open up the toll box on the window. This is my first time using a toll box. The toll box is hidden by the rear view mirror, thus the writing on it which says öpen tollbox"' is obscured by the mirror. When renting the car, the clerk should have told me that i needed to open the toll box. (I rented the car and ppaid for the daily use of the toll box). I should not pay the $58 in tolls to Austin

Rate includes
Unlimited mileage, Loss Damage Waiver (with zero deductible), Supplemental Liability Insurance (SLI), Airport surcharge, Vehicle registration fee, Free modifications, State Tax, Customer Facility Charge (CFC), Surcharges.
Driver requirements
Minimum rental age is 20 years.
A young driver fee applies to drivers under the age of 25.

There is no maximum age.
A Senior driver fee is not applied.

The driver license must have been issued by authorized authorities at least 1 year(s) before the date of the commencement of the rental.

In addition to the regular driver license, an International Driving Permit is also mandatory if the national driver license is not written in English. Please note that the International Driving Permit is valid only if accompanied by the regular driver license.

In order to pick up the car, the renter and each additional driver must present the following documents: passport, valid driver license, credit card on a main drivers name, booking voucher.
Deposit and deductible policy
The Security Deposit amount is either 350 USD or 15 % of the estimated total of the rental, whichever is greater.

The deductible/excess amount is 0 USD.

Delivery/collection service is not provided.
Fuel policy
The vehicle is provided with a full tank of fuel and must be returned with the same amount in order to avoid additional charges.
Alternatively, for rates that include Fuel Purchase Option the first tank of gas is included. Customers do not have to refuel the vehicle prior to return.
Additional information

Rental period
The maximum rental period per agreement is 62 days.
If the renter would like to extend the rental period, renter should return to the car hire office at the end of the rental period to sign a new agreement.
Business hours
Service outside of business hours is available by request and for an additional charge.

Period of time, during regular working hours, when the car is still guaranteed for the customer, if the customer is late for pick up (the grace period) is 29 minutes.
