Cons: I booked through discoverers and had a firm price but the local Dollar rental price was arguing that it was just an estimated price and tried to increase the price due to taxes etc. They didn't in the end. maybe communication issue with discover and dollar?

Cons: The lady at the desk made it really hard to change the name on the reservation, to change the name of the main driver. thats all she needed to do, she kept blaming us on making her changing the reservation, and she had to ask the manager who also didnt help. only after a while she did it, she just didnt know how to do it before probably and she didnt want to say.

Pros: We are family of five, 3 young kids. We followed the instructions but hit a “wall”. The guys at Hertz were so nice that they assisted us for a car since Hertz owns Dollars. They managed to give us a really nice car. We really appreciate the service from Hertz 😊

Pros: Efficient clean office, staff on hand to show you where the car was and how to record condition of car ie damage and marks prior to leaving premises and how to challenge any claim of any damage on return.

Cons: Definitely NOT being informed of additional cost for add on insurance for injury and personal effects and breakdown insurance at time of hire. When I had contacted Dollar customer service I was firstly told there was nothing that the operator could do and suggested I could only challenge in person at a local rental office. I then spoke to a different person who said they would write my challenge on my record so I could challenge the charges when I returned the car. No such record was recorded!

Cons: At first we thought wow that was fast and easy.. until we were exiting. It took about 20-30 minutes to get out of the lot! There was a very long line of cars waiting to get out. They had one person checking id’s and scanning the cars at the exit! I don’t know why they didn’t do that at the time we got in the car. that being said, I don’t think, in Denver anyway, we would use Dollar. Toll charges? Even if you don’t use it is $15 a day? If you don’t ask they won’t tell you & it’s double! 🤬

Cons: In my opinion the desk agent lied to me and required us to pay an additional $176.11 above what we had already paid. This made the rental very expensive compared to simply renting directly from National.

Pros: Initially, it was not clear to me that I would be renting from Dollar. It sounded as it discovercars.com worked with many rental car companies. I am still not quite sure what type of company discovercars is, but it does not really matter at this point.

Cons: Dollar is Dollar. I have rented from them before, I like their rentals, but they are no frills. For winter driving, the windshield wipers need to be replaced more often.

Pros: 1- Dollar was able to correct errors by Discover Cars. 2- When we had trouble with the first car they gave us, Dollar replaced the car without complaint.

Cons: The first car we received had windshield wipers that we old and worn -- they didn't work well in the snow we encountered immediately after picking up the rental. The tires in the car were underinflated (warning light on the dash told us this -- again, we noticed this the about an hour after pickup).

Cons: Was basically ambushed to upgrade the car to a small SUV. Due to snow. Quoted me $700+ for the bill up from the $200+ I booked for. I said no way to much. They then offered a discount at $498 after I retuned the vehicle. I agreed. Now after I returned the car I was charged $698 plus the $200 +. And somewhere between discount car and dollar someone added the address information in dollars system as “DUMMY”

Rate includes
Unlimited mileage, Loss Damage Waiver (with zero deductible), Supplemental Liability Insurance (SLI), Airport surcharge, Vehicle registration fee, Free modifications, State Tax, Customer Facility Charge (CFC), Surcharges.
Driver requirements
Minimum rental age is 20 years.
A young driver fee applies to drivers under the age of 25.

There is no maximum age.
A Senior driver fee is not applied.

The driver license must have been issued by authorized authorities at least 1 year(s) before the date of the commencement of the rental.

In addition to the regular driver license, an International Driving Permit is also mandatory if the national driver license is not written in English.
Please note that the International Driving Permit is valid only if accompanied by the regular driver license.

In order to pick up the car, the following documents are required: passport, valid driver license, credit card on a main drivers name, booking voucher.
Deposit and deductible policy
A deposit will be blocked on the customer's credit card and will be released within 30 days after drop-off.
Cross-border policy
Crossing country borders is forbidden to the following country: Mexico.
Crossing country borders is allowed to the following country: Canada.
In order to travel to the following country(ies):Canada, customer must purchase the following insurance policy(ies): Premium Roadside Assistance.

Fuel policy
The vehicle is provided with a full tank of fuel and must be returned with the same amount in order to avoid additional charges.
Alternatively, for rates that include Fuel Purchase Option the first tank of gas is included. Customers do not have to refuel the vehicle prior to return.
Rental period
The maximum rental period per agreement is 62 days.
If the renter would like to extend the rental period, renter should return to the car hire office at the end of the rental period to sign a new agreement.
Business hours
Service outside of business hours is available by request and for an additional charge.

Period of time, during regular working hours, when the car is still guaranteed for the customer, if the customer is late for pick up (the grace period) is 29 minutes.
