Pros: Both agents were friendly and competent. The pickup agent well-advised me to get the full coverage insurance. I needed unlimited mileage to get to Cumbria and back, with side trips.
Cons: The office in the Sofitel at Gatwick is really hard to find. The Chinese-made MG3 was an unpleasant car--underpowered, dead steering, touchy brakes. The only things about it that were Easirent's fault (as opposed to the manufacturer 's) were one underinflated tire when I picked it up (remedied at the first petrol station) and need of an alignment (pulled left).
Pros: It was a fast pick up, the agent was cool, the cist was very competitive. Car was OK... I mean it's a rental so you get what you pay for and I paid for OK lol
Cons: What is not obvious or clear, more of a fine print detail, is that the rental office is not with the rest of the rental desks at the airport. It is off site so you have a walk, with all your baggage, to get there. There is no shuttle service to it. I picked the car up from Gatwick and dropped it off at Birmingham. Neither was signposted so you had to find it on Google maps and then figure out how to get there. Birmingham airport os way off site. But... its cheap so....
Pros: The ease of hire at Gatwick was fantastic! The office staff were very helpful and polite. Sadly, the first car smelt badly of vomit in the back seat and the second car was infused with the smell of smoke, similar to an ash tray.
Cons: Would be good if the name Drivalia was used as nobody knows what Easirent is and it was extremely difficult to find the shuttle bus location to reach the Heathrow office. We had to pay for full cover insurance (which cost us over double the amount we expected to pay) as our credit cards could not be used for the £1500 hold, especially considering we had two car hires (due to a week side trip) and the money was not going to be refunded in time for the next £1500 deposit hold for the next car hire
Pros: Friendly and quick.
Cons: wondering if I was given wrong/misleading information.
Pros: The service was good, not exceptional, or anything to write home about, just what you expect, professional.
Cons: easy rent forced me to buy unnecessary car insurance, even though I had my own insurance from a private company which covered the excess and any damage to the car. Because I chose not to buy extra insurance from easy rent, I was asked to pay a deposit of £1500 and was happy to do it but the company rejected my MasterCard. I couldn’t get the car unless I chose to buy their insurance. I will be pursuing this matter further with easy rent, this is not acceptable practice.
