Economy rent a car
Economy Rent a Car began as a small family-run car rental business in Central America’s most popular tourist destination, Costa Rica. The company began by renting trucks to visitors coming to the country for surfing. In 2009, the company began expanding internationally as a franchise. The brand now operates via independent car rental companies in 38 countries around the world.
In 2024, the company won our Excellent Car Rental Service Award for its location at Aguadilla Airport, Orlando Airport, and Downtown Fort Lauderdale.
Some of Economy’s more popular destinations for our customers include Cancun Airport in Mexico, San Jose and Liberia Airports in Costa Rica (naturally), Toronto Airport in Canada, and Fort Lauderdale Airport in Florida.
When renting a vehicle from Economy in Florida, like with most smaller rental companies, you’re not allowed to travel outside of the state with the vehicle. In Canada, for example in Vancouver, the company allows customers to travel to neighboring provinces and states with a daily surcharge.
