Pros: Car was great and service was great, just a little slower, but expected for Mexico.
Cons: I was a bit disappointed by extra charge for insurance even when my credit card provides and you pay for some through Discover cars. This is exactly what I was trying to avoid. And if we didn't pay a daily rate of some sort had to put a deposit down of the cost of car! $13500 USD!
Pros: They did not have a car for me
Cons: The car I reserved was not there and I was uncharged. I was trapped because I had to have a car at that moment.
Pros: The representatives were very friendly and helpful. This was the first time I had used Europcar in Playa del Carmen and it was easy to find. I had a good experience from pickup to dropoff.
Pros: They scam you with additional car coverage. Stay away.
Rental Conditions
Please check the Rental Conditions for each vehicle prior to booking as some conditions, particularly the deposit and deductible, may vary based on the class of vehicle.
A young driver fee applies to drivers under the age of 25.
There is no maximum age.
A Senior driver fee is not applied.
The driver license must have been issued by authorized authorities at least 2 year(s) before the date of the commencement of the rental.
In addition to the regular driver license, an International Driving Permit is also mandatory if the driver license is written in a language other than that of the renting country and/or in characters that cannot be read in the renting country.
Please note that the International Driving Permit is valid only if accompanied by the regular driver license.
In order to pick up the car, the following documents are required: passport, valid driver license, credit card on a main drivers name, booking voucher.
Acceptable proof of insurance must include name of the insurer, address of the insurer, proof of insurance that covers the rental vehicle for damage and liability, telephone number statement (as proof contact number belongs to driver).
If choosing to self-insure, the renter must provide an insurance ID card with exact coverage shown and the same name and address as on the driver license.
Insurance is accepted only if issued in the following country(ies): Mexico.
Renters who do not purchase insurance coverages from local partner, and who have not arranged for other insurance coverage that is valid in the country of pick up, may be personally responsible to supplier and/or third-parties for damages up to the full value of the rental vehicle and/ or for all damages caused to third-parties and their property.

The exact deposit is determined on pick up since the amount is dependent on the type of vehicle.
It is possible to pay and leave the deposit only with the following payment methods: MasterCard credit card, VISA credit card, American Express credit card.
Cash, Debit cards, Prepaid cards is/are not accepted.
The main driver must provide a physical payment card in their name with enough funds to cover the deposit to pick up the car. The rental company will neither accept virtual credit cards (e.g., GooglePay or ApplePay) nor someone else’s card (including family members).

In the event that Cross Border & Territorial Restrictions are violated, all protections lose their validity.

Adding additional drivers is allowed.
There is an additional charge for each driver.
Underage additional drivers are subject to both Young Driver and Additional Driver fees.
When picking up the vehicle, all drivers must be present and must provide valid documentation.
Period of time, during regular working hours, when the car is still guaranteed for the customer, if the customer is late for pick up (the grace period) is 30 minutes.
