Cons: When returning our hired car , there were no parking stations on the europcar section as it was fully parked with cars . The staff should let the clients know that if that happens, to park in any available parking spot.

Cons: Due to a late rescheduled flight Europcar Canberra Airport was closed (at 6.30pm) and did not leave a key or any other help in spite of me phoning Europcars (diverted to call centre, very polite operator, but zero help and she did not inform local agent.) Canberra Europcars local rep later called me to see if I could arrive early and when I explained my diverted flight had not even left, all he could suggest was picking the car up at 8am the next morning which was logistically impossible.

Rate includes
Free cancellation with a full refund up to 48 hours before your pick-up time, Unlimited mileage, Loss Damage Waiver (damage deductible: ~€ 3260.00), Third Party Liability (TPL), Vehicle registration fee, Free modifications.
Rate excludes
The following surcharges may apply: Premium Location surcharge.

E-Toll/Sunpass activation fee is 3.30 AUD per day.
An E-Toll is offered in order to avoid violation fees.
Mileage policy
If the customer plans to drive a large number of miles, he/she must return to the local car rental office to inspect the vehicle before reaching 10000 km.
Driver requirements
Minimum rental age is 21 years.
A young driver fee applies to drivers under the age of 25.

There is no maximum age.
A Senior driver fee is not applied.

The driver license must have been issued by authorized authorities at least 1 year(s) before the date of the commencement of the rental.

The driver license must be written in English alphabet.
In addition to the regular driver license, an International Driving Permit is also mandatory if the driver license is written in a language other than that of the renting country and/or in characters that cannot be read in the renting country.
Please note that the International Driving Permit is valid only if accompanied by the regular driver license.

In addition to documents mentioned previously, the customer will need the following: passport, valid driver license, credit card on a main drivers name, booking voucher, flight information.
Deposit and deductible policy
A deposit will be blocked on the customer's credit card and will be released within 30 days after drop-off.
The exact deposit is determined on pick up since the amount is dependent on the type of vehicle.

If the customer takes the following extra equipment: GPS Navigation system, Baby seat (up to 1 year of age), Child seat (2-4 years of age), Booster seat (4-10 years of age), Snow chains, then an additional amount of deposit will be held on their credit card.
Payment policy
At time of pick up, customers will be required to pay the amount of the rental and a deposit.
It is possible to pay and leave the deposit only with the following payment methods: MasterCard, Visa, American Express, Diners.
Cash is/are not accepted.

The main driver must provide a physical payment card in their name with enough funds to cover the deposit to pick up the car. The rental company will neither accept virtual credit cards (e.g., GooglePay or ApplePay) nor someone else’s card (including family members).
Cross-border policy
It is forbidden to cross country borders.
In the event that Cross Border & Territorial Restrictions are violated, all protections lose their validity.

Using a ferry is allowed on the previous request and for an additional charge with special permission from the car rental company. Travel to the following territory(ies): Kangaroo Island, Stradbroke Island, Magnetic Island, Bribie Island, Phillip Island, Bruny Island is allowed.
Information on the exact fee amount is available by request. It is forbidden to drive to some locations in the country as well as on some specific roads. For more information, please contact the rental office.
Optional extras and services
Available special equipment: Baby seat (up to 1 year of age), Child seat (2-4 years of age).
Prices for extras are shown on the booking page.

Adding additional drivers is allowed.
There is an additional charge for each driver.
Underage additional drivers are subject to both Young Driver and Additional Driver fees.
When picking up the vehicle, all drivers must be present and must provide valid documentation.

Delivery/Collection service is available within city limits. Additional charges will be applied, depending on the distance.
Fuel policy
The vehicle is provided with a full tank of fuel and must be returned with the same amount in order to avoid additional charges.
Additional information
If the customer would like to extend the rental period, he/she should return to the car rental office at the end of the rental period to sign a new agreement.
The contract will be extended with prices updated according to the prices for each period.
