FairCar is a car rental company serving one of Europe’s most remote and fascinating destinations, the country of Iceland. The company was founded in 2011 when the number of tourists visiting Iceland was on the rise.
In the country, the company is now only located at Keflavik Airport, the country’s main international airport. The company’s offices are actually outside of the airport. Their representative will meet you at the airport and take you there (they arrive at the airport at least every 30 minutes). For this meet and greet service, you’ll need to provide your flight number in advance.
FairCar offers many different extras for your rental that are suited for a trip around Iceland including camping equipment. When going into the mountains, the company only allows its 4x4 vehicles to be driven on mountain roads (F roads) as well as a couple of other roads. So if you wish to explore the most that you can, make sure to rent a 4x4 vehicle.
