Upon arrival at the Southwest Florida International Airport, please proceed to the baggage claim area. 1 - Once in the baggage claim area you will be looking to exit at either door #1 or door #2. 2 - After exiting, proceed across the passenger pick-up lanes towards the Rental Car building, you will see signs directing you to the off-airport pick-up area. 3 - Follow the sidewalk path and -off airport- shuttle signs to the covered bench pickup area. 4 - Once at the pick-up area you will board the Fox Rent A Car Shuttle for a short ride to the Fox Ft Myers Location. Fox Rent A Car shuttles operate during regular business hours.

Pros: It’s a shame that businesses are still operating formal scams in the US, and further still that you’re supporting them and aren’t doing your due diligence to understand that. Eventually these places will be weeded out. I paid an extra $250 in scam fees that were never agreed to.

Pros: Given the many poor reviews, I was worried about my rental. Fortunately, I had absolutely no issues during pick up or drop off. Amy at the desk was fantastic and although she did ask about upselling to better insurance coverage, prepaid gas, and their own Sunpass, I respectfully declined everything and that was the end of it. FOX was about a third of the price of the terminal-based rental cars, so I would definitely use them again. The shuttle bus from the airport was quick and easy!

Pros: The staff were really good and helpful. There was no hard sell or stories of doom and gloom if I did not purchase all the extra insurance etc... The credit card I use provides full coverage, Also I liked the explanation about the costs of the tolls up front. I once had a very negative experience with a different rental co. because I was unaware of the extra costs going through unmanned tolls. Also the car was a clean low mileage model.

Cons: The only negative, and this is nit picking, was finding the pick up location for the shuttle service. We found it ok in the end, so all was well. For what we saved vs. the other more well known companies, dealing with the off site location was well worth it.

Rate excludes
Many highways in USA - Florida are tolled using only electronic means.
All rental vehicles are equipped with a transponder that can be used for paying for all toll roads. An E-Toll is offered in order to avoid violation fees.
There is an additional charge of 12.99 USD per day for Toll pass / E-toll device.
An E-toll charge will apply; personal consumption will be charged separately at the end of the rental period.
Driver requirements
Minimum rental age is 19 years.
A young driver fee applies to drivers under the age of 25.

There is no maximum age.
A Senior driver fee is not applied.

The driver license must have been issued by authorized authorities at least 1 year(s) before the date of the commencement of the rental.

In addition to the regular driver license, an International Driving Permit is also mandatory if the customer is not a resident of the following country(ies): USA. In order to pick up the car, international renters must present the following documents: passport, valid driver license, credit card on a main drivers name, booking voucher, International Driving Permit (IDP), telephone number statement (as proof contact number belongs to driver).
Please note that the International Driving Permit is valid only if accompanied by the regular driver license.
Deposit and deductible policy
A deposit will be blocked on the customer's credit card and will be released within 30 days after drop-off.
The exact deposit is determined on pick up since the amount is dependent on the type of vehicle.
Fuel policy
The vehicle is provided with a certain amount of fuel and must be returned with the same amount in order to avoid additional charges.
Rental period
The maximum rental period per agreement is 30 days.
Business hours
Period of time, during regular working hours, when the car is still guaranteed for the customer, if the customer is late for pick up (the grace period) is 59 minutes.
