Global Rent a Car
Global Rent a Car is a franchise for local car rental companies in many countries, mainly in Europe. As a franchise, it is operated by different companies in different countries all under the single brand Global. The brand itself is owned by EMobG Services Germany GmbH, a German subsidiary of the Europcar Group.
Global Rent-a-Car was launched by a German company in 2015. At the time, the company said the goal of launching it was “ to establish a healthy counterweight to the existing and dominant industry giants.” The German car rental company Buchbinder (before it was acquired by Europcar Group) was the first German franchisee of the company. In many locations, not just in Germany, but also Austria and Hungary, Buchbinder and Global share rental desks or offices.
Global has an extensive network of franchisees. The company has franchisees in many different European countries and Morocco. These include popular tourist destinations like Portugal (where they have locations in Lisbon and on the island of Madeira), Iceland, Greece (including Crete), Cyprus, Finland, Croatia, and so on. Global Rent a Car is particularly popular in Poland, also.
Quite a few of Global’s franchisees have excellent customer service. In fact, in many popular locations, they have been awarded our Excellent Car Rental Service award. This includes their franchisee locations at Salzburg Airport in Austria, Dubrovnik Airport and Split Airport in Croatia, and Rovaniemi Airport in Finland. Given its franchise model where different companies operate the brand in different countries, the level of service could vary slightly — but be assured the brand takes customer service seriously and monitors all of its franchisees to ensure that renters have the best experience possible.
