Cons: Rude Unhelpful Arrived and advised we had to purchase their full cover and the one we had already purchased was useless and wouldn’t work. Took a long while to sort out the details. Told us the car was in space 14 and to go to the car park. Asked if they could go round car with us and told no someone was there to do that if we wanted. We were searching for someone for ages as the car in 14 didn’t open before we were advised that there is a car hire section on floor below. more to add

Cons: The tricks they use to gain money. When I pickedthe car it was parked in a very dark corner where it was almost impossible to see scratches. When I returned the car they went directly to the right door mirror and pointed a scratch, almost impossible to see and that I´m sure I didn´t do it, and charged me 62,79€ for it.

Cons: The misinformation about the involved costs, unexpectedly adding additional costs at the pickup station, including extremely high down payments for fuel and the car insurance. Therefore, we did not pick up the car from these scammers.

Cons: The desk agent insisting I wait an hour before pick up as my flight arrived early. I was offered an 'upgraded ' vehicle for an additional fee which I declined, only to be given the very same vehicle at the time of rental. Petty, arrogant & most unhelpful.

Cons: I picked the car up and 10 mins later the tyre warning light came on. Obviously tyre pressures not checked as when I inflated the 4 tyres they were all well off the proper inflation rates. Light came back on following day and Goldcar had the car recovered and charged me €420 to do so. I had then to travel back to the airport 35miles to pick another car up. Terrible service all round and second car was a scrapper.

Pros: Goldcar were great, at first the person on reception was annoyed that I put up some resistance to paying extra insurance as I'd paid it already online with Discovery Cars but once I understood that it wasn't Gold Car's fault that Discovery Cars were so misleading the agent was actually very helpful.

Cons: I paid double the rental price to have the upgraded insurance, on collection of the car at Goldcar the insurance I'd paid extra for meant nothing, I either left £1,100 with them there and then or paid a further £100 added insurance. Do not use Discover cars, go direct to the actual car hire companies, I have no idea what I'd paid double for as it certainly wasn't insurance!!

Cons: Awful customer service in Gran Canaria airport! I booked and paid a car and at the pickup desk I had with me only Amex and Visa (Revolut - online bank) and I could not pickup the car! They did not allow me to pay extra insurance and their argument was “our company accepts only Visa and some other card but from non-online banks (e.g., Revolut, Neon, etc)”! I offered to pay extra insurance but they just didn’t care and I had to book another car in a different company that accepts Amex.

It is a very long way from the desk to the car park, and we had to walk it twice. Amex not taken. Return procedure not clear, no spaces to leave the car in so had to leave in a Hertz space.

Cons: The queue was vey long (not Goldcars fault) but the speed of service was exceptionally slow, taking over an hour to collect. The staff were not engaging or pleasant.

Cons: Turning up at the Goldcar desk approximately 50ins early due to flight arriving sooner was told that I couldn't have a the car until 16:00 but could pay an extra €81 to take then, was a little bit disappointed by this service, so had to hang around the airport until 16:00

Pros: The team downstairs at the parking was extremely helpful.

Cons: The staff at the check-in desk are not really willing to provide services; moreover, they seem focused on completing the payment process and moving on quickly. They haven't had the car I booked (that's fine) but the similar one they offered, it hasn't had parking camera and wireless connectivity, the reason I booked the model I prefer. They weren't really interested to come into a constructive resolution, they offered a way more expensive solution with a extra cost of €30/day... Unprofessional.

Cons: VW AppConnect function was disabled, so couldn't use phone navigation on the car screen.

Pros: Andrea the staff member gave 10/10 service.

Cons: Goldcar was completely understaffed for the number of bookings they’d taken on. An hour wait and a half hour drop off is unacceptable. The car was awful and definitely not an upgrade. Insurance is a scam, I’d booked my own for £10 but had to pay £130 as my card daily limit hadn’t been changed to cover the deposit - which conveniently is just over £1000. The fake added mark was the biggest let down, the car was so scratched and battered the report would look ridiculous.

Cons: Hidden charges. I felt like I had to pay the insurance cover which meant I was covered. But I’d understood that having money on my card would be cover. It appeared that if the car was scratched it would cost £350. This was not explained fully before.

Cons: didn't get paid warranty for the car after several attempts they wanted me to pay 140 euros instead of warranty and they said this you can't get it back when the car is delivered way take a taxi to laspalmas and late after dinner came back to try again finally got I paid for the car. They wanted a warranty, but didn't get a full refund and I'm still waiting for an answer.

Cons: When actually collecting the car we were told that there was no damage but when we went to retrieve the vehicle from the collection bay it was dented and scratched in various locations although the paperwork said there was no damage I had to wait for the representative in the parking lot to return to get the vehicle rechecked and video all the damage, The representative Pamela was exceptionally helpful but this process took about 50 mins, also I couldn’t fit both cases into the boot
