Anyway the retiring service was very quick and easy and the girl who assisted me was AMAZING, very nice and the money were returned after one hour in full!

Tried to scare us into purchasing additional insurance at the cost of €280 (for 30 days) on top of the basic insurance and the private access cover we already had. Informed us that we are not allowed to drive on the "majority" of the roads in Fuerteventura, as they are considered off road, unless we take out the additional insurance, even though we had opted for the SUV to avoid this. (We did this last year with Top Car)

Pros: Carlos the receptionist was very efficient, kind and helpful. He gave us all the information we needed and was a pleasure to deal with.

Cons: Difficult to acquire someone to check car condition before and after rental. The car had much minor damage on collection and safety of deposit was of some concern.

Cons: The website is generally ok. Perhaps we made the wrong choice when choosing the rental company. "Goldcar" is a rental company that I do not recommend to anyone. First of all, the airport employees tried to rent us a car with additional insurance from the very beginning (the cost of renting a car was about 150 Euro, and the cost of additional insurance was 250 Euro). Secondly, it turned out that you cannot drive a car outside of asphalt roads, which is quite problematic when visiting Fuerteven

Worst thing was i got charged a day later nearly the price of the weeks rental for cleaning the car. They said there was sand on the floor in two places that required extra cleaning! It was normal sand from my shoes and was not excessive and a normal vacuum would fix it. Seems to be a way to get more money to balance for low rental price and is a hidden extra rental cost. 3. Bad pick up process.

Watch out for all of the hidden charges, we were charged €60 with no explanation. Finally got an answer 3 months later but it was after lots of call & email, seriously poor service, that is why they tend to be the cheapest, they have to be for the lack of quality cars & staff
