Cons: Excessively high charge for utilising roadside assistance. Attempt to charge me for damage to the car that was present when I picked up the car without even consulting with me first.

Pros: At pick-up the agent was conversant in foreigh language (English) She provided a comprehensive review/explanation of car, functions, equipment, condition issues and changed the preferred language for me.
Cons: The condition of the car on pick-up was noted and I took photos of the items listed. At the drop-off there was a different agent. The condition issues should be photographed during the pick-up and compared to the drop off so that no questions arise.

Pros: Lucas spoke excellent English and was very helpful.
Cons: Confusion over the price when we picked the car up and… the long wait to have the deposit returned. Holding the deposit for 1 month seems excessive (and was not disclosed at the time of the rental) as we will have other car rentals in the weeks to come and this may impact our credit limit and ability to secure another rental vehicle with the same credit card.

Rate includes
Free cancellation up to pick-up, Unlimited mileage, Collision Damage Waiver (deductible: € 1180.80), Theft Protection, Third Party Liability (TPL), Airport surcharge, State Tax.

Many highways in mainland Portugal are tolled using only electronic means.
All rental vehicles are equipped with a transponder that can be used for paying for all toll roads.
You’ll be charged a service fee of 1.85 EUR per day up to a maximum of 18.50 EUR per rental in addition to the tolls, which will be charged to your credit card after the rental period.
You may also be required to leave an additional deposit for tolls.
An E-toll charge will apply; personal consumption will be charged separately at the end of the rental period.

The vehicle is provided with a full tank of fuel and must be returned with the same amount in order to avoid an additional charge per liter/gallon of missing fuel plus a 30 EUR refueling service charge.
