Pros: We got a good deal, and they gave us a brand new car. Also, the agent upon check-in did not try to sell me add-on's, but rather quickly assented to my preferences regarding no extra insurance coverage and to bring the car back full of petrol.
Cons: Basically, the only negative was that the Hertz check-in service desk was hard to find at the Alicante, Spain location. The desk in the airport terminal was not yet open, and we were told by airport workers to go to the incorrect place outside to catch a car rental shuttle. Finally we asked a car rental shuttle driver, and she told us where the Hertz check-in was located, which was on the opposite side of the airport in the parking garage. And so we probably wasted 30 minutes or so.

Pros: They were kind
Cons: They were salespeople. They sounded like they were doing you a favour and cutting you a deal but really they were creating extra costs for you to pay without fully explaining. Our rental ended up costing over double what we thought we would pay.

Pros: Unhappy as I had stated that I would be dropping off the car @ 6am when booking, they chat me over 60€ then after- as a fine- not happy about that.
Cons: They charged me €60 for dropping back the car EARLY- this was agreed with discover card- so not recommending hertz.

Free cancellation with a full refund up to 48 hours before your pick-up time, Unlimited mileage, Collision Damage Waiver (deductible: € 1200.00), Theft Protection, Roadside Assistance (in the country of pick-up), Third Party Liability (TPL), Airport surcharge, Premium Location fee, Vehicle registration fee, Free modifications, State Tax.

A deposit will be blocked on the customer's credit card and will be released within 30 days after drop-off.

Cross-border policy
Cross border rentals are allowed only upon previous request.
Additional charges will be applied in case the car is crossing state or region borders.
Using a ferry is not allowed.

Fuel policy
The vehicle is provided with a full tank of fuel and must be returned with the same amount in order to avoid additional charges.
Alternatively, the renter may purchase a tank full of fuel at the time of rental and return the tank empty.
Electric vehicles must be returned with the same battery charge they had when picked up to avoid additional charges (on a per kWh basis). An additional admin fee will be charged if a vehicle is returned with less than 20 % battery charge remaining.
