Cons: Struggled to get someone to answer the phone on arrival from our flight- one person on the desk at a very busy pick up / drop off time - dealing with persons in office therefore unable to answer phone - especially as they have over 100 cars for rental

Pros: Friendly and efficient staff, had an option for a car with the trunk space we needed, and the car generally got us from point A to point B.

Cons: A little unclear where to pick up the shuttle at the airport, so we missed it the first time around. Also, felt like we had to decide between reasonable trunk space or a slightly newer car...would be nice to have both. The car was a bit old and had a slight alignment issue.

Pros: Quick and friendly staff

Cons: For a car at 35000 kms it’s in very poor condition, transmission is wrecked, won’t see 100k kms. It’s also overdue a serivice by 10000kms.. join the dots!

Pros: Price was cheap.

Cons: The agency closed before I arrived there (due to flight delays). This led to me having to book an alternative hotel to stay overnight so I could pick up my car in the morning instead. Absolutely no apology or care from the Hitch employees. Once I got the car it smelled like cigarettes inside and I had an issue with a battery terminal being loose when on the road. I would not recommend this car rental agency at all.

Cons: Refusal to take responsibility for the lack of GPS, blaming you instead. Someone needs to compensate me for my financial loss.

Cons: Car stunk. Had a horrible smell and had to stop and buy air freshener straight away. Car was on empty, fuel light on, on pick up and they just said bring it back empty which is unacceptable

Cons: Apart from spending 30 minutes simply trying to contact someone to work out how to get the car, I was also told I had to 'calm down' by the representative who had started telling me all her problems. When I was eventually picked up I heard all of the driver's complaints, then when I received the car it was filthy. It is also the only rental car I have written 'whole car scratched and dinged' on the form. Manager was not there. It was cheap, but it was not worth it and I'll never do it again.

Cons: The car rental company closed before I arrived and therefore I was unable to pick up my car. They were uncontaftable

Cons: As previously stated above. Your agents felt like they were not including all the scratches and dents. When buying insurance online, it needs to be included that it will or will not cover for flat tires. Online it seems as though it would cover any damage up to a certain amount.

Cons: I RUN OUT OF BATTERY, RETURNED THE CAR AND TOOK ANOTHER ONE, AND AFTER 3 DAYS I HAD THE SAME BATTERY PROBLEM.

Pros: Friendly service with puck up and drop off and driver who took me back was friendly as well.

Pros: Car that was provided was great, and spotless! Rental desk was not too busy and I did not have to wait too long for all the paperwork to be done and for the car to be ready.

Cons: The car was not ready despite it being past the pick-up time. However, it did not take Hitch very long to get the car ready.

Pros: Straightforward and to the point when picking up and dropping off (other car rental places take a lot longer)

Cons: Car wasn't in the cleanest state however considering the price I was paying I wasn't too bothered

Cons: Picking up the car took over an hour. The agents were all over the place. One starting using the computer i was being checked in on for another rental part way through. They continually stopped to answer phone calls. It was a circus. never again!! Also, no car radio - Everything was in Japanese.

Pros: The ability to take the car on the ferry from Wellington to Picton and to drop the car in Christchurch.

Cons: The car - a 2015 Mazda 3 - was a very basic model with absolutely no options. We wanted to rent a GPS but the Auckland Airport franchise had run out of them. Also, while there is a direct line telephone in the Auckland Airport to call for the shuttle it took 30 minutes before someone answered the phone.

Cons: My car was messy inside lots of food on the floor in the back off the car which i vaccumed out myself

Pros: From the first instant, phoning for airport shuttle Els & Leesha turned up immediately & were so friendly. Leisha superb in setting us up. Then phoned Sandy on Friday to see if we could keep car a further 2 days & in less than 2 minutes it was done (& charged at 6-7 day rate rather than a separate 5-day & 2-day hire rate). On return Georgina was total 'boss' & so good with her knowledge & service. & Steve in transport to hotel - the best! Hitch is so lucky to have such a great team!!

Cons: Please do not let this reflect on my overall positive experience but the inside of the windscreen needed to be wiped probably as it was a little greasy & when it started raining I had to pull over & clean it myself as it was near impossible to see out of.

Pros: It was ok. The people were friendly. They seemed understaffed both at pickup and return.

Cons: The car was old (2009 or so as advertised), but the interior was very dirty and smelly. The windshield was very grimy. There was trash from previous renters scattered around. The car smelled of bad air freshener, stale cigarettes and something else, maybe vomit? I had to ride with the windows down most of the time. If the car sat closed up in the sun for any period of time, the smell was overpowering. The windshield wipers were dangerously bad. It was very hard to see when driving in the rain.

Cons: The service desk was very busy and was very understaffed. They did their best but professionalism lacked due to the pressure they were under.

Pros: The car was available on short notice and was adequate for our needs. The Hitch agent made a few accommodations for their failings, which eased the disappointing aspects of their service.

Cons: The shuttle to their office never came. Their office was closing soon after our arrival, so I had to take a taxi to their office. I was reimbursed for the taxi expense. The car was not clean, as the staff had already left. The agent agreed the car could be returned empty of fuel as recompense. Car return was utterly disorganized, staff seemed annoyed with all customers returning vehicles.

Cons: When returning the car, I asked for printed receipt to make sure that I would not be subject to extra charges. They declined my request, saying that they would e-mail me a receipt. It has been 5 days now, and still no e-mail receipt
