Ilha Verde, which means green island in Portuguese, serves the beautiful Azores Islands which are part of Portugal. The company was founded by three partners on February 12, 1971 with a total of 6 vehicles. The company operated with just one employee in the beginning, who still works for the company now 50 years later. The company is now the largest rental company in the Azores Islands. As such, it has locations on six of the islands in the archipelago, including all major airports, ports, and cities like Ponta Delgada, Pico, Horta, and Santa Cruz das Flores.
The company is highly rated by our customers. In fact, it has won our Excellent Service Award in multiple locations in 2024, including Horta Airport, Horta Port, Lajes Terceira Airport, Ponta Delgada Airport, Downtown Ponta Delgada, Ponta Delgada Port, Santa Maria Airport, and Sao Jorge Airport.
