Italy Car Rent at Rome Airport Fiumicino

Pros: We thought we were working with an honest rental car company. Turns out they are scammers who charge extra fees under false claims of vehicle damage. DO NOT RENT from this company!!!

Cons: Do Not Rent from Italy Car Rent - they are dishonest. We rented the car in good faith and returned it in the same condition we rented it. They are making ridiculous claims of damage that first off, we didn't do, and second, some of the items are so trivial that no other rental agency would consider them damage. This is obviously a scam, you rent at a low cost but once you return the car 2 days later you get all these photos showing damage. DO NOT RENT from Italy Car Rent.

No visible damage. The lock was never used. Used the remote all the time. It was not demonstrated to me that it was working with the key when.

They only had photos of the outside of the car in the contract when we accepted there car, we took photos of the outside off the car to. We the staff member checked the car she pointed out the strain and implied were caused it. We pointed out that it was there when we took the car. She said they could not take photos of all damage inside & out of car.

Pros: My reservation was an Opel Astra and what a coincidence, they provided me with a Volkswagen Taigo, which I also personally have one. That made my trips a lot easier. I did not have any issues picking up or returning the car or releasing the blockage from my credit card. I can also say that, the ladies who supported me during picking up the car and returning were really kind. I had an enjoyful experience without having any problems.

When I pointed out the defects to the representative at the time of the rental, I was asked to take a video, which I did. Then they didn’t want down the car for damage, telling me.

Pros: The service desk in Rome was efficient and explained the process to me. I would have wanted them to go through all the past damages with me rather than the onus being on me to choose. But overall they were very friendly and fast to get the car prepared. The people in Rome were great.

Cons: The quality of the vehicle was the absolute worst. We rented a Kia Picanto, which was covered in dents, scratches, scrapes, and almost every panel was marked up. My wife and i drove around the country and experienced issues with the starter (sometimes you would have to jiggle the keys in the ignition). Drop off in Milano was the worst. No direction on turn in and nobody at the return "desk" nor any clear indications of where to even locate the main desk. The phones were not working i guess.
