At the international terminal rental car services have been temporarily relocated to the rental car pick up zone. Please exit via door 8 and follow the signs for "Rental Cars", which is a 5–7-minute covered walk. The rental car offices are on the left-hand side of the building. Domestic travellers can find rental car operators on the ground floor of the multi-level car park building, directly opposite the domestic terminal forecourt.

Cons: I had a flat tire. I had a bad connection where it happened so I had to call in multiple times to attempt to get roadside assistance. The agent(s) kept asking the same questions, telling me to call the road service myself even though I kept asking my connection was bad. Someone stopped and helped me with the tire change before I could get assistance from the rental company. No one called to follow up. Upon returning the car, I was told there are no notes about what happened.

Pros: Nothing

Cons: We waited for 2 hours at the depot to to collect our car and there was no indication on the voucher that we had to collect it from Europcar. It wasn’t until I called the number that I figured it out as the number was directed to Europcar. There was no representative from Discovercar available and Europcar couldn’t offer any alternative or reason as to why we weren’t being served.

Pros: Dropping the car off.

Cons: Confusing that Keddy does not exist, the car was provided by Europcar. Wrong advice on phone about which terminal to go to. Wrong to make us get an International licence in English translated for 49 dollars. Wrong to make us wait almost 2 hours for a car. Wrong to provide the wrong size of car. The service at the Europcar Domestic terminal desk was shockingly bad. We were made to wait so long it gave us big problems for the day. The huge gas guzzling vehicle cost us a lot more in fuel. Pros: It took 2 hours to even be seen by an agent! We called the night before arriving in terminal to make sure our car was there! It wasn’t there and was given a mid size car even though I paid for a large car (ford Ranger) couldn’t even fit my luggage with my 3 children!

Cons: I was told the Kia sportage was the same as ford Ranger! I was also still charged the same price definitely don’t book with Europe car NZ unless you like waiting hours to see an agent and paying for something that you actually didn’t book worst ever and never again!!

Cons: When we finally found a number and spoke to someone on the phone to rebook, there was actually no car there for us to pick up at international airport. We called again and they told us to go to the domestic airport to pick it up. We ran there with all of our luggage (because of the lack of shuttles) to make it in time for the the new pick up time however when we got there, europcar was closed and no car was there.

Cons: Delay at pick up, car initially offered was not the one we had agreed. Staff at pick up desk were very busy. We were expected to find location of the car in parking lot for ourselves- signage and instructions poor. Likewise better instructions of how to get to parking area for drop off would have been helpful, one way systems and carparks very confusing

Pros: Let us change drop off from Auckland to Wellington due to covid alert level three being put in place during the use of the car.

Cons: Misleading website about cover and what gets your excess covered. Terrible customer service at Auckland airport. Over the top fuel charge upon drop off. The gage was on the "full" line and we were charged $40 which would do at least 1/4 of the tank!

Driver requirements
Minimum rental age is 21 years.
A young driver fee applies to drivers under the age of 25.

There is no maximum age.
A Senior driver fee is not applied.

The driver license must have been issued by authorized authorities at least 1 year(s) before the date of the commencement of the rental.

The driver license must be written in English alphabet.
In addition to the regular driver license, an International Driving Permit is also mandatory if the driver license is written in a language other than that of the renting country and/or in characters that cannot be read in the renting country.
Please note that the International Driving Permit is valid only if accompanied by the regular driver license.

ID documents must be hard copies; documents held on mobile devices will not be accepted. In addition to documents mentioned previously, the customer will need the following: passport, valid driver license, credit card on a main drivers name, booking voucher, flight information.
Deposit and deductible policy
A deposit will be blocked on the customer's credit card and will be released within 30 days after drop-off.
The exact deposit is determined on pick up since the amount is dependent on the type of vehicle.
Payment policy
At time of pick up, customers will be required to pay the amount of the rental and a deposit.
It is possible to pay and leave the deposit only with the following payment methods: Diners, MasterCard credit card, VISA credit card, American Express credit card.
Cash, Cheques, Debit cards, Prepaid cards is/are not accepted.

The main driver must provide a physical payment card in their name with enough funds to cover the deposit to pick up the car. The rental company will neither accept virtual credit cards (e.g., GooglePay or ApplePay) nor someone else’s card (including family members).
Optional extras and services
Available special equipment: GPS Navigation system, Baby seat (up to 1 year of age).
Prices for extras are shown on the booking page.

Adding additional drivers is allowed.
There is an additional charge for each driver.
Underage additional drivers are subject to both Young Driver and Additional Driver fees.
When picking up the vehicle, all drivers must be present and must provide valid documentation.

Delivery/Collection service is available within city limits. Additional charges will be applied, depending on the distance.
Fuel policy
The vehicle is provided with a full tank of fuel and must be returned with the same amount in order to avoid additional charges.
Business hours
Service outside of business hours is available by request and for an additional charge.
Period of time, during regular working hours, when the car is still guaranteed for the customer, if the customer is late for pick up (the grace period) is 0 minutes.
