Founded in 1973, the Brazilian company Localiza is the largest car rental company in Latin America. It is headquartered in Belo Horizonte, the company has more than 500 locations including in every major airport and city in Brazil and in Argentina, Bolivia, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, Paraguay, Peru, and Uruguay. The company owns many of its locations, but it also has a network of franchises. The company has a fleet of over half a million vehicles in total and around 18,000 employees
As it is a large company with decades of experience, it's no surprise that Localiza is highly rated by our customers, particularly in its home market. The company won our 2024 Excellent Car Rental Service Award for 14 airports in the country, including Brasilia International Airport, Florianopolis Airport, Guarulhos Airport, Porto Alegre Airport, Recife Airport, Galeao Airport (in Rio de Janeiro), and Salvador Airport.
