Pros: The representatives themselves were professional and nice but the wait time was too long.

Cons: The waiting time of 90 minutes at airport desk not enough staff to serve so many people. After flying for 8 hours you don’t want to spend almost 2 hours waiting to be served.

Pros: Very slow pickup and drop off. They used to be excellent but now they have teamed up with other car rental agencies and the service and cars have turned for the worst.

Pros: I had read many negative customer reviews of other rental agencies in Italy -- true horror stories. So reputation via positive reviews was very important to me. And Locauto did not disappoint! Everything went the way it was supposed to: the car was ready, clean and full of fuel; prices did not change; desk agents at check out and check in were informative and professional; no "surprise" charges (example: unsubstantiated claims of scratches or damage).

Cons: The check-in agent encouraged me to pre-pay the gasoline for $120 euro, and I was told that would be cheaper than filling it myself. What I learned, however, is that my diesel vehicle only costs $80 euro to fill -- so I felt a little overcharged. Also, perhaps it was due to summer "peak", but I paid more for this vehicle than any I'd previously rented. Finally, it would be preferred to rent a transponder for tolls instead of having to manually stop and pay each time.

Pros: Smart check in is the best! We went directly to the car park, no need to stop by the office. Fast and very effective!

Cons: The "full insurance" they offer is ridiculously expensive, but this is something all other companies are doing.

Cons: The car did not smell clean- it had a very faint smoke smell. It lingered all the time. It was not spotless. Also I chose a car one step up from the cheapest. Perhaps I'm just ignorant of car makes but I'm not sure what would have been less basic than I had!

Cons: I returned my car 3 days early and not offer of any funds back - I also received a large vehicle and had requested for a smaller one - I was already nervous about driving I’m Italy with a smaller vehicle

Pros: We had no issues picking up our vehicle or returning our vehicle. We had heard some pretty horrible things about this company after we had already rented the vehicle but luckily we had no such issues

Cons: The only thing we didn’t like was that there was such a large hold on our deposit money which most people don’t have laying around when they’re planning a vacation. But the money was returned to us quite quickly upon drop off

Cons: I could not discuss the problem of the price with a representative that could do anything about it.
