Pros: Everything went smoothly and both the representatives at pick up and drop off were very kind and professional. This was a 5/5 star rating. Highly recommend!

Cons: The car I received had quite a few bumps and scratches but I guess that’s normal of a rental car in Europe.

Pros: I appreciated renting a car in Florence but it was very difficult picking car up and the company could have provided information about restricted driving areas of city something only locals would l is about.

Cons: I felt I was scammed when I returned home to a host of very expensive tickets for driving into areas I had no idea that were restricted to tourist. Rental company should let tourists know this.

Pros: It was correct, they are Alamo and National too I think. I was a little afraid because of some bad reviews I have read, but everything went ok. I had no problem, they were very polite and clear.

Cons: Nothing. The car could have been cleaner inside (though it was not dirty) but I think it was a very busy week, many people on holidays demanding cars.

Cons: Hidden costs due to: car dropped-off at a different location (from Florence to Siena). These costs were not clearly stated by DiscoverCars upfront, therefore I will request a reimbursement as per my contract.

Cons: The car was delivered with extremely low engine oil, noticed by warning on display, confirmed by a Locauto representative in Sienna. I fill it on my expenses, I was not refund at drop out (missing commercial invoice, having only the regular receipt, that every gas station provide), but the stress that the engine can get dry and damaged somewhere in the country made from the using of the car a very unpleasant experience.

Free cancellation with a full refund up to 48 hours before your pick-up time, Unlimited mileage, Collision Damage Waiver (deductible: € 1200.00 - € 3600.00), Theft Protection, Snow chains, Third Party Liability (TPL), Airport surcharge, Road tax, Free modifications, State Tax.
Rate excludes
The following surcharges may apply: Winterization fee.
Mileage policy
For rentals of 1–27 days, mileage is unlimited.
For rentals of 28 days or more, mileage is limited to 117 km per day.
Mileage is limited, there will be a surcharge for each additional km.
Details are available at the car rental company's reservation office.
Driver requirements
Minimum rental age is 19 years.
A young driver fee applies to drivers under the age of 25.

There is no maximum age.
A Senior driver fee is not applied.

The driver license must have been issued by authorized authorities at least 1 year(s) before the date of the commencement of the rental.

The driver license must be written in Latin alphabet.
A driver license printed using a non-Roman alphabet (Arabic, Japanese, Cyrillic, etc) must be supplemented by an International Driving Permit.

In addition to the regular driver license, an International Driving Permit is also mandatory if the customer is not a resident of the following country(ies): EU.
Driver licenses from the following country(ies): China will be accepted only if the translation is approved by the Consulate or Embassy.
In addition to the regular driver license, an International Driving Permit is also mandatory if the driver license is written in a language other than that of the renting country and/or in characters that cannot be read in the renting country.

Please note that the International Driving Permit is valid only if accompanied by the regular driver license.
In addition to documents mentioned previously, the customer will need the following: credit card on a main drivers name, Passport or ID card, booking voucher, address of the insurer, photocard driving license.

Payment policy
At time of pick up, customers will be required to pay the amount of the rental and a deposit.
Payments and deposits with the following payment method(s): Debit cards are accepted only for the following car group(s): Economy, Compact, Mini, Standard, Intermediate, Fullsize.
The following credit cards issued on the main driver's name are accepted: American Express, Union Pay, MasterCard credit card, VISA credit card. Any other cards or cash payments are not accepted.

The main driver must provide a physical payment card in their name with enough funds to cover the deposit to pick up the car. The rental company will neither accept virtual credit cards (e.g., GooglePay or ApplePay) nor someone else’s card (including family members).
Cross-border policy
Cross border rentals are allowed only upon previous request.
Crossing country borders is allowed to the following countries: Norway, Switzerland, United Kingdom, European Union.

In the event that Cross Border & Territorial Restrictions are violated, all protections lose their validity.
Optional extras and services
Available special equipment: GPS Navigation system, Baby seat (up to 1 year of age).
Prices for extras are shown on the booking page.

Adding additional drivers is allowed.
There is an additional charge for each driver.
Underage additional drivers are subject to both Young Driver and Additional Driver fees.
When picking up the vehicle, all drivers must be present and must provide valid documentation.

During winter season (from 15.11. until 15.04.) Snow chains are included in price.


Delivery/Collection service is available within city limits. Additional charges will be applied, depending on the distance.

Fuel policy
A deposit for a tank of fuel is required upon pick up.
The vehicle is provided with a full tank of fuel and must be returned with the same amount in order to avoid additional charges.
Additional information

The vehicle must be returned in an acceptably clean condition in order to avoid additional charges.
Rental period
The maximum rental period per agreement is 30 days.
If the renter would like to extend the rental period, renter should return to the car hire office at the end of the rental period to sign a new agreement.
Business hours
Service outside of business hours is available by request and for an additional charge.
In order to have service out of hours, the renter must provide the following information: Flight number, train number.
A maximum of 59 minutes is available for service outside of business hours.

Period of time, during regular working hours, when the car is still guaranteed for the customer, if the customer is late for pick up (the grace period) is 59 minutes.
