MEX RENT A CAR at Mexico City International Airport

Pros: Pick-up from airport was straightforward, as was returning the vehicle.

Cons: They gave away our rental cart because our flight was delayed, then charged us more for a worse car. They were very unhelpful at 4am in the morning.

Pros: These are super friendly people that want to accomodate. the rates are fantastic AND there were NO surprises. I also tried to rent a car with another company: Infinity Rent A Car - they tried for a 5000 USD deposit and to add 1800 USD to the price of the rental!!! MEX offered NO surprises, no upsells, no BS.. Just a rental according to the agreement I made with discover cars... Awesome

Cons: MEX rep at the airport wasn't really there - I had to ask around before they finally found the person. Once i did find the rep for mex everything from there on went very smoothly.. I also had one incident where I ended up with a BOOT on the car for my parking running out (after 4 minutes!). I couldn't get it off even after i paid the fine - as mex had to then pay another fine from a previous renter... So i lost half a day taking care of this. I was not given any consideration for this loss.

Pros: Amazing. Would rent again.

Pros: Right when we got off our flight to get the car, we were able to get it fast and efficiently the keys to the car ; because my nephew rented a car with a different service and they arrived before us and they were still waiting for their car. The Young lady working there was also very nice and polite and had overall very good customer service with us. Overall I liked that they worked fast and efficiently to us the car and we didn’t wait long and that the car was new and in very good condition.

Cons: I was told that when I rented the car, that the insurances and all that would be included with the price I paid for. However, when I was going to get that car, that wasn’t true but the Young lady that helped was very polite and in a disposition to help me out and it ended up working out very well.

Pros: The ONLY positive part of the entire experience was the airport counter agent, Isabel Colin. She was so kind and understanding, and it was a relief to have her assistance.

Cons: From beginning to end - everything. After a two hour delay at the airport, our shuttle picked up additional passengers in the other terminal. There was an additional wait when our shuttle was already nearly full, and we picked up an additional four people, only for them to have to sit on each other's laps. The car we rented (after an upgrade I will add) had countless dings and seemed to be quite old. I really don't know the model or the year.

Cons: Customer service is awful. They’re dishonest and scammers. If anyone tries to rent from this company just be aware that the price your quoted is not real and the car that you requested is probably not the one they will give you. They will give you a more expensive one.

Cons: Desk was shut, nobody answering phone. Supposed to pick up car at 5am, desk next door said nobody would arrive until 7:30am.

Cons: They are very sketchy, they first tried to give me a car of a lower category, they wanted to over charge me for insurance, and were complaining about me booking through a third party. They charged my card with 2.5 times more than regular protection charge than normal. Customer service the worst. I got the car I ordered after 1.5 hours of fighting with those people and telling them I was going to complain with the PROFECO. Call me for more details 719-258-3139

Pros: I was not able to receive the car as I was almost an hour late (for which we called but didn't pick up) and I didn't receive a refund as well. Pretty bad experience, loss of money

Cons: The car's check engine light was on when I picked it up, and that made me nervous. Also, I think a GPS unit should be offered for an additional fee.

Cons: Dishonesty, extreme pressure to purchase unnecessary coverage, charging exorbitantly for a different car because they "ran out of" the car I reserved (and prepaid!) We ended up with a car that Mex Rent a Car KNEW had a leaking tire. We had to spend significant time (and money) dealing with the issue, having the tire repaired twice, in a country where we barely spoke the language. Just a horrible experience overall.

Pros: The car itself was fine (I did not mind picking up a car with dents and damage to the exterior), drop off was quick and friendly.

Cons: Pick up was appalling, ridiculous amount of time consuming paperwork at the desk in arrivals, then at the car depot arrived to discover that the car valvet staff had not turned up for work and the one guy at work was trying to wash cars for everyone in the shuttle. representatives at the desk were obviously stressed (but not valeting the cars themselves). As time ticked on they became increasingly rude, saying things like "you can cancel and go elsewhere" and "do you want a dirty car".

Pros: Daniela the agent was super helpful and very nice.

Cons: The cops know the rental cars in the area and will pull you over. Just wish that we had been warned since we won't ever rent a car in Mexico City again due to the corrupt police system.

Cons: Lack of transparency and over communication of high rental insurance cost is a huge miss. Our reservation was not honored and we were forced to upgrade despite our desires without any kind of compensation. The vehicle took an hour to be delivered to us. The fuel tank was given to us under 1/4, meaning we had to refuel upon receipt. Just overall an awful experience will never rent a car again.

Pros: Good value

Cons: I ordered a car with automatic transmission and they demanded $25 per day extra to provide one. I can drive manual and did do, but this attempted shakedown was annoying and a bad way to introduce your country.

Cons: Our car had an outstanding speeding ticket (from a year ago) and we got stranded by have a day because they couldn’t fix it fast enough. They still insisted on charging us for the whole time rented and since we refused, they said “no worries I’ll just hold on to you guarantee”. Awful experience, would not recommend, and will definitely not rent with them again.

Cons: There was no one there at the desk. We called for a shuttle pick up. We gave them our reservation information. 30 mins later they didn’t pick us up. Then we called again for 10 minutes and had only a busy signal. Then when we did get a hold of them they said. Oh. We don’t have the car on your reservation so it is going to be three times the cost to rent a car with us. We only have bigger ones.
