Pros: On arrival at the collection desk, the rep wrote two figures in pen on the rental agreement €65 for fuel and €35 for the additional driver. I had paid in full prior to arrival and there was no mention of this. He then printed out a form with an additional €100 for insurance and fuel and told me to pick an option. His English was basic and could not explain why he had written numbers in pen but said that if I wanted a relaxing holiday, I should pay the €100. After a very long day, I paid.

Cons: I felt as if I had been ripped off and was very annoyed. The car had done 102,000 km and the sat nav was completely out of date. The engine barely dragged it up Mount Teide and I barely got out of first gear.

Cons: There were lots of extra hidden charges plus they gave us a very damaged car to start with that they had already had problems with.

Cons: It was terrible. It took over 3.5 hours from landing to finally get a car. They took ages to turn up to take us off-site to pick up the cars. You then arrive at this warehouse space where you get summoned up to a room like a school child. The workers were rude and made no effort to speed things up or explain anything to anyone. I have rented a number of cars all over the world but this was by far and away the worst service I have ever received.

Pros: PICK UP FROM AIRPORT SHORT DRIVE TO VEHICLE COLLECTION

Cons: MADE TO PAY 630 EUROS UP FRONT WHEN THEY HAD MY CARD DETAILS. NOBODY INSPECTED THE CAR WITH ME. CAR VERY BADLY SCRATCHED. ON RETURN THE CAR WAS EXAMINED MINUTELY, I WAS BLAMED FOR ONE LARGE BUMPER SCRATCH, THE MEMBER OF STAFF ASKED IF I HAD TAKEN PHOTOS BEFORE I TOOK THE CAR OUT. I SHOWED HIM M PHOTOS WHICH INCLUDED THE LARGE BUMPER SCRATCH AND HE TRIED TO REFUTE IT. EVENTUALLY i WAS GIVEN MY 630 EUROS BACK, UNFORTUNATELY IN A DIFFERENT MONTH FOR MY CREDIT CARD. i ACTUALLY HAD MY OWN CDW INS

Cons: Pricing not as arranged. Credit card fees came to more than the car rental due to them taking 630 euro out at rate 1.14 then crediting it at 1.21. With visa fee of £32 pounds this was outragrous. Also full to empty only available so add another 50 euro. Plus add 20 euro for extra driver. PRICE TOO HIGH. JUST RIPPED OFF AT EVERY STAGE.

Cons: Appalling customer service. No discipline to order customers are called up to process paperwork - you don't even know if you are going to be called. Staff oblivious to customer waiting time. Totally silent / no eye contact service. Never again. Worst process ever endured.

Pros: They were professional and knew their work.

Cons: They did not try to help when the terms and conditions of Discovery car were contradicting and did not help with the issue regarding paying for petrol. Also, they were charging an extortionate amount for petrol which was more than twice as much as one would have to pay at a petrol station.

Pros: 24/7 availability by phone.

Cons: Hard to find the desk, it is far away from the airport with horrible bus access. The waiting time is too long. We changed two cars in Orlando because of very bad clutch. The second one had a better clutch but not the best at all. Once the second car showed "engine failure", the Orlando service member told us to ignore it.

Cons: Charge for a full fuel tank was 60€, way overpriced for such a small car. I later filled more than 50% for 15€. Rip off and no option was offered to me to return the car full (I was told to pay the 60 fuel charge and return with empty tank)

Rate includes
Free cancellation with a full refund up to 48 hours before your pick-up time, Unlimited mileage, Collision Damage Waiver (with zero deductible), Theft Protection, Roadside Assistance (in the country of pick-up), Tire & Glass Coverage, Third Party Liability (TPL), Airport surcharge, Road tax, Free modifications, State Tax, Full Damage Waiver (FDW).
Driver requirements
Minimum rental age is 20 years.
A young driver fee applies to drivers under the age of 21.

There is no maximum age.
A Senior driver fee is not applied.

The driver license must have been issued by authorized authorities at least 1 year(s) before the date of the commencement of the rental.

In addition to the regular driver license, an International Driving Permit is also mandatory if the driver license is written in a language other than that of the renting country and/or in characters that cannot be read in the renting country.
Please note that the International Driving Permit is valid only if accompanied by the regular driver license.
In order to pick up the car, the renter and each additional driver must present the following documents: passport, valid driver license, credit card on a main drivers name, booking voucher, flight information.
Deposit and deductible policy
No deposit is required during the rental period.
Payment policy
At time of pick up, customers will be required to pay the amount of the rental and a deposit.
It is possible to pay and leave the deposit only with the following payment methods: Visa Debit Card, MasterCard credit card, VISA credit card, MasterCard debit card.

The main driver must provide a physical payment card in their name with enough funds to cover the deposit to pick up the car. The rental company will neither accept virtual credit cards (e.g., GooglePay or ApplePay) nor someone else’s card (including family members).
Optional extras and services
Available special equipment: Baby seat (up to 1 year of age), Child seat (2-4 years of age), Booster seat (4-10 years of age).
Prices for extras are shown on the booking page.

Adding additional drivers is allowed.
Underage additional drivers are subject to both Young Driver and Additional Driver fees.
When picking up the vehicle, all drivers must be present and must provide valid documentation.

All extras are available at the rental counter. Prices vary, depending on the rental period.

The first additional driver is allowed free of charge.
Delivery/Collection service is available within city limits. Additional charges will be applied, depending on the distance.
Fuel policy
A deposit for a tank of fuel is required upon pick up.
The vehicle is provided with a full tank of fuel and must be returned with the same amount in order to avoid additional charges.
Rental period
The maximum rental period per agreement is 30 days.
If the renter would like to extend the rental period, renter should return to the car hire office at the end of the rental period to sign a new agreement.
Business hours
Service outside of business hours is available by previous request at airport locations.
Period of time, during regular working hours, when the car is still guaranteed for the customer, if the customer is late for pick up (the grace period) is 120 minutes.
