Cons: Discovery car provided a pick up price but when we got to the rental centre the price was over double! As we were just off a 10 hour flight we had no real option but to pay. I was also unaware while booking through Discovery Cars that Renta Florida had a hold of 45 days for refunding the security deposit! That's right 45 days compared to hours for Hertz etc. The final straw was when Renta Florida did not refund the deposit and had to dispute the charge through my bank.

Pros: Nothing…just car was decent, personal could have been kind and told me I could have gotten an IDL online within 20 minutes and saved myself the extra 39.99$ a day insurance that they added. Also, an IDR is to translate a drivers licence. My licence is in Spanish, which every single agent in their office speaks. AND, they informed me if the car was not returned clean, they would charge me AND to really end my rental experience with them, they charged me the banking transaction fee to use a visa.

I called your customer service, but they did not help me. It was really disapotting experience. In our booking was CDW collision included, they charged us 160 USD and 130 USD for some taxes. They said its mandatory. I had my own full coverage from worldwideeinsure.com for USA, they did not accept.

As soon as we arrived and identified ourselves and handed over ALL the requested documents, we had the unpleasant surprise that the amount agreed through Discovercars would not be met. This then made it 3x more expensive then a reputable company (my brother hired a tesler for a fraction of the cost at the Hertz desk). These fees were not compulsory in the state of Florida but told outright it needed to be paid. Having a family member who has lived in the state for 30+ years tried to explain the fees

They could not guarantie that we get our cars the following day. when we got there we got much smaller cars than I had booked to a much higher price. That`s my complaint.

Arriving there, they told us that this is just the domestic rate which can not be used with an international driver's License. Cons: On arrival in Miami on 19th February, I called the car rental company as instructed and I was picked up and taken to the rental location. On arrival at the rental car company location, I was informed by the Agent that I would be required to pay an additional $600.00 for the rental (exclusive of insurance and taxes which I declined). The agent said the charges Discovery Cars quoted were only booking fees and that they (the car rental company) required an additional rental payment of almost $600.
