RentalPlus in Florence (Downtown)

Pros: The car had a broken small window taped which of course flies off on the highway. Oil needed topping up. Very unsatisfied with the car.

Cons: Would be helpful to at least clean the windscreen and back window and put some water in the windscreen wiper tank before hiring a car. We had to clean windows before we could drive away. Otherwise car was perfect.

Cons: The actual pick up of the car was too quick and there was no offer of explaining car details.

Cons: The agency made us pay 20€ additional for parking costs without any notice and no possibility to drop the car in front of the parking. They use the service of a private parking spot which, of course, they charge to the customer making their problem the one of the customers. The parking is 10/15min away by car from the agency, also no information upfront about it.

Pros: We had an issue with paying the tolls in Naples so we called the local Rental Plus office who were very helpful in providing assistance!

Cons: The car rental agent upon pick-up in Florence was quite short tempered otherwise no issues.

Cons: They would not honour my reservation. I was supposed to drop the car off at the airport, but when I arrived they would only give me a car if I agreed to drop it off at the downtown location and then take a cab from there… I had no choice but to comply but it negatively impacted our trip.

Cons: the associate who helped pick up the car at the desk was RUDE and arrogant! definitely need training on how to speak to customers.

Pros: Agent tried to upswell the car they were renting to us. Rudely commented that she could not believe that were renting a manual car. Only concerned about up selling and not providing information on the car.

Cons: The drop off at Bologna airport was confusing and didn't have adequate instructions. We wasted a lot of time trying to figure it out.

Cons: The windshield washer fluid was low and we ran out after only using it a couple times. Also, it was difficult to find the drop off location at Catania airport because the location was not well marked.

Pros: Rental Plus saved us by agreeing to give us a different car for a lower price because DISCOVERY CARS allowed us to reserve a car that RENTAL PLUS doesn't even have.

Cons: They cancelled our reservation without any notice because we were three hours late to picking up the car. We were therefore left completely on our own to find a car last minute and paid triple the price as a result. When I asked if they had tried to contact me before renting out our car, they shook their head and said that’s my job. Good customer service would have made an attempt to contact the customer - many variables can happen with travel that can make things a few hours off schedule.

Pros: When dropping off the car in Rome the rep was very efficient and quick. My deposit of €500 was returned to me in a matter of days.

Cons: The Rep in Florence pretended he gave a “small discount” for the inconvenience of not having an automatic car for us (which we’d booked). The “discount” was in fact less than the € difference between the hire fees of an automatic car and a manual car.
