Pros: The young man who checked us in was very nice, otherwise, nothing

Cons: The car was terrible! It smelled like cigarette smoke and dirty dog, there was hair all over the trunk . The tire pressure light was always on, probably because the tires were totally bald. And there was no spare tire. The fuel gauge was broken, so we never knew how much we had. We didn't get to look at the car with an agent before we picked it up. When I called to tell them, the man on the phone was rude and dismissive, and obviously didn't care. I would not recommend RentScape!!!

Pros: Once we got in touch with the RentScape staff, they were friendly and helpful.

Cons: Incorrect address provided on order confirmation. Telephone number on order confirmation not answered (when trying to find correct address) - public car park staff finally helped us. Problems locating office led to a delay of one hour+. Accidental damage cover sold to us more than doubled the cost quoted by DiscoverCars.com. Litter from previous renter left in the car glove box.

Cons: Discover Cars does not rent the cars. In my case you connected me with “Rentscape” who operates out of an office at Lyon Part Dieux with no signage or way finding and it took me almost two hours to find them. Then when I returned the car, they lost it for a week and blamed me! Fortunately, they found it. I would never do it again.

Cons: Rental office was hard to find. First car broke down had to drive 400 k to replace.have not had my costs repaid. Replacement car also had a problem. Both were high mileage. Both cars were not well cleaned. Worst rental experience ever.

Driver requirements
Minimum rental age is 18 years.
A young driver fee applies to drivers under the age of 26.

There is no maximum age.
A Senior driver fee is not applied.

The driver license must have been issued by authorized authorities at least 1 year(s) before the date of the commencement of the rental.

A driver license printed using a non-Roman alphabet (Arabic, Japanese, Cyrillic, etc) must be supplemented by an International Driving Permit.
Please note that the International Driving Permit is valid only if accompanied by the regular driver license.

In order to pick up the car, the following documents are required: valid driver license, credit card on a main drivers name, Passport or ID card, booking voucher.
Deposit and deductible policy
The exact deposit is determined on pick up since the amount is dependent on the type of vehicle.
A deposit will be blocked on the customer's credit card and will be released within 30 days after drop-off.
Optional extras and services
Available special equipment: Baby seat (up to 1 year of age), Booster seat (4-10 years of age).
Prices for extras are shown on the booking page.

Adding additional drivers is allowed.
There is an additional charge for each driver.
Underage additional drivers are subject to both Young Driver and Additional Driver fees.
When picking up the vehicle, all drivers must be present and must provide valid documentation.

All extras are available at the rental counter. Prices vary, depending on the rental period.

Additional charges will be applied.
Fuel policy
The vehicle is provided with a full tank of fuel and must be returned with the same amount in order to avoid additional charges.

By law, winter tires are mandatory on all roads from 01.11 to 31.03 in the following regions: Ain, Allier, Alpes-de-Haute-Provence, Hautes-Alpes, Alpes-Maritimes, Ardeche, Ariege, Aude, Aveyron, Cantal, Doubs, Drome, Haute-Garonne, Isere, Jura, Loire, Haute-Loire, Lozere, Moselle, Puy-de-Dome, Pyrénées-Atlantiques, Hautes-Pyrénées, Pyrénées-Orientales, Bas-Rhin, Haut-Rhin, Rhone, Haute-Saone, Savoie, Haute-Savoie, Tarn, Var, Vaucluse, Vosges, Territoire de Belfort.
Snow chains are recommended in icy/snowy conditions, especially when traveling in mountainous areas.
