Cons: The staff are completely unfair and are trying to charge me for damage that they cannot prove with any photos showing that I caused it. At the very least, they should provide photos of the car on the exact day and time I picked it up. If they truly had the customer’s best interest in mind, they would have advised me to take these photos when I collected the car. I cannot accept paying for something I did not do.

For a tiny scratch on one of wheel covers on Fiat Panda I was charged almost €50 which is enough to buy two sets of four covers. When I have asked for picture of the damage to make insurance claim they have ignored me and no reply has been provided. Basically they earn most of they profits from overcharging for minor damages.

We had booked a car in advance and tried to contact the Rentsmart office when we arrived in Milan Malpensa airport as we were going to be outside the one hour collection window. The phone in the office was not working for some reason. I successfully called another number immediately to ensure my phone was working properly. We made our way to the office to find our booking had been cancelled as we had missed the ridiculous collection window.

Cons: The damage sheet was covered in about 20 defects but conveniently missed the very edge of the mirror which had a tiny chip in the glass. My 3 minute video of the car also just narrowly missed the edge of the mirror but the agent immediately found it upon inspection and demanded proof to show we had not caused it which I couldn’t provide so we were charged €200.

I had a problematic engine noise in the car without any indicator on the dashboard in the middle of my vacation and the only solution given to me was to go back to Milano to change the car which wasn't practical.

Cons: The only issue was the insurance, we had full coverage, but it seems this was with Discover Cars and not with 24 Smart. We were told in the case of any damages to the car we would have to pay at least 1000 euros, and then get reimbursed by Discover Cars, and the guy tried to get us to purchase additional insurance with them. I think both companies should have an agreement between themselves about the insurance and not expose the customers to additional expenses or stress.

Pros: Everything worked as planned

Cons: Trying to sell insurance when We already had one. The shuttle service to AirPort was good, but could be more organised. Auto gearbox and cruise control would be nice even in cheaper cars.

Cons: I tried to explain my frustrations to a member of staff, and was told he didn’t have time to listen and hung up on me. The guys are also using the cars you leave with them as personal taxis. The whole operation is a disaster and I will be reporting it to trading standards.

Cons: It was a bit confusing getting to the office. The drivers didn’t speak English and so were very confused about what was going on. Didn’t actually get to rent the car bc the price kept going up based on circumstances. It was a frustrating process that cost me a lot of money .

Cons: the shuttle from the airport to parking go was very bad. a lot of confusion. the vans kept arriving and the driver was calling for several passengers thar were waiting, but they never called us. the one time my phone call was answered, the person had a lot of difficulties speaking and understanding english. that was the only problem. also it wasnt that easy to find the gate were the pick up took place. but that is on the airport information. not on RentSmart necessarly.
