Pros: Everything worked out great. Got the car we booked and we weren't offered extra insurance.

Cons: After returning the car we didn't receive any confirmation that we had dropped off the car. Just a little print or email would've been nice.

Cons: I didn't realize that the RentX cars were not at the airport and that there was a shuttle involved. Car itself was just okay - it had multiple damage spots on it and needs some maintenance services - but the clerk advised that they are simply too busy to be able to repair them before the next rental.

Cons: The remote location and long shuttle ride to/from the airport. The fact that the first vehicle failed us (engine light and limp mode while driving up and down the challenging streets and mountains of Medeira) was very concerning. I am thankful that when I reported the problem someone was sent out with a replacement no questions asked.

Not enough pick-up shuttle capacity and slow processing : despite online check-in completed prior to arrival, it took over 1 hour to pick-up the vehicle as IT failed, etc. Upon return, instead of charging gasoline extra to already registered credit card, they insisted to do a new debit, which made the process slower than needed - and the staff driver was not particularly friendly nor polite.

Cons: The whole service was a mess to be honest. We called the shuttle to pick us up, they said it'd be 10 minutes it was 40 minutes until we were picked up and left. The van didn't have enough room to fit 5 people and our luggage so some people and their luggage had to be left behind, which should not be happening. At the check pick up counter, I asked to speak to a manager to express my frustration with the service and was spoken to very rudely, and in a condescending manner. I did not feel safe.

Cons: -Didn’t know it was not at the airport -pick up point at airport could be clearly indicated perhaps a designated pick up point? -time to pick up we landed at around 11pm and got to our hotel which at 1am when it’s only 30mins from the airport

Pros: I liked that the car was clean and almost new.

Cons: We had some problems at the beginning with the car because it had no power at all to climb slopes or overtake other cars. The first time I thought it had a very bad engine. I found out later that it was because of the fuel. After I changed the fuel it drove ok. This was a very bad experience considering that in Madeira most of the streets are sloping. I did not feel safe at all driving this car at first.

Pros: The rental car company provided good customer service when something went wrong. The drop off was easy.

Cons: It is general true the communication with small rental car has been challenging unless you call them. Email is not possible. Communication has to go through Discovercar which sometimes does not meet our needs and something could go wrong like this time the rental car company could not deliver the car at the time I needed. They were kindly delivered early next morning. This could be avoided if there is a seamless between Discovercars and rental company

Pros: They are efficient, and there is a friendly staff as well.

Cons: The pick-up at the airport was not really clear. There is no sign or designed spot for pick-up either. Luckily they were helpful over the phone. Their website is unfinished.

Pros: Rentx were really fast at picking me up and renting the car to me. It was all already sorted via WhatsApp so not a lot to do in their office. The car was really new and clean. The staff were excellent and I LOVED the fact that they told you these and then when you returned the car if there was any damage etc (unlike a lot of rentals where you drop it off and then just have to wait and see if anything gets deducted!)

Cons: Potentially you could be waiting a while at the airport if they had already done a pick up and you’d missed it
