Pros: Quick pickup and drop-off I ordered a Peugeot 2008 I got a Jeep Renegade with faulty sensors. They said they would have a replacement in two days.Then they tried to fob me off telling me that sensors are just an extra feature. I said the car I booked had camera and sensors this car was faulty. I was responsible for damage but the car did not have a key feature working. They changed the Jeep to a Mitsubishi ASX which had both camera and working sensors. So they were good in that respect.

Cons: The Jeep was tinny with unresponsive steering compared to the Mitsubishi. They did respond and change the vehicle but I wish they had initially not tried to get out of it. I would use them again.

Cons: I asked for a sat nav when i booked the car - was amazed to discover that unless we had an Iphone the sat nav would not work (we dont use iphones) so we had no sat nav for the whole week we were there and were not offered a map of any kind - so getting from getting the 27km to Funchal when we arrived was a total nightmare - the guy at Rentx office tried to get our Android phones to work but it did not work so not a nice way to start a holiday and we will not be renting with this comp again

Car itself was just okay - it had multiple damage spots on it and needs some maintenance services - but the clerk advised that they are simply too busy to be able to repair them before the next rental.

Pros: I had a problem with the first vehicle and they were quick to replace the vehicle. They delivered to a remote location at 9:00 at night. Very thankful for this great customer service.

Cons: The remote location and long shuttle ride to/from the airport. The fact that the first vehicle failed us (engine light and limp mode while driving up and down the challenging streets and mountains of Medeira) was very concerning. I am thankful that when I reported the problem someone was sent out with a replacement no questions asked.

Not enough pick-up shuttle capacity and slow processing : despite online check-in completed prior to arrival, it took over 1 hour to pick-up the vehicle as IT failed, etc. Upon return, instead of charging gasoline extra to already registered credit card, they insisted to do a new debit, which made the process slower than needed - and the staff driver was not particularly friendly nor polite.

Cons: The whole service was a mess to be honest. We called the shuttle to pick us up, they said it'd be 10 minutes it was 40 minutes until we were picked up and left. The van didn't have enough room to fit 5 people and our luggage so some people and their luggage had to be left behind, which should not be happening. At the check pick up counter, I asked to speak to a manager to express my frustration with the service and was spoken to very rudely, and in a condescending manner. I did not feel safe.

Pros: Flight was late but they stayed open for us. Very friendly and understanding staff. Picked up quickly by the transfer bus and taken about 10 mins to the garage where the car was waiting. The cars all seemed to be quite new. Return was easy.

Pros: The staff was so friendly and quick in responding. When we arrived I just texted our driver and he was at the airport within 10 minutes. He immediately apologized and told us it could be a bit busy at the rental location. Reason, they were having a teambuilding/company barbecue! We immediately were welcomed to taste some traditional dishes that they were eating themselves. And we even got offered a drink! I mean it’s not gonna happen always but it was a magical way arriving!

At first we didn't got the car we booked (a smaller one was presented from the higher class), although after informing that it would be too small for our full group, it was changed to the one suiting our needs fully - and everything without any problems. Pros: We have liked the communication. They didn't try to sell us any other insurance which we didn't need. The shuttle service was punctual and the people working at RentX very friendly.

Cons: The way back with the shuttle we found not very pleasant. On the roads the driver went too fast. Much faster than the maximum speed limit! We weren't very comfortabele... with this driving behavior.

Cons: It is not about the RentX, but the car, which was awful. Weak even for flat lands, not the madeira. Water constantly condensed on the windshield and instrument panel shone reflections to the windshield, so that visibility was significantly lowered. Terrible car.
