Routes Car & Truck Rentals at Vancouver Airport

Pros: good value

Cons: it seemed like they were understaffed - there was no sign at the airport. We got picked up, but only because the driver was already dropping people off. We heard later of many people waiting at the airport for pickup because there was only one driver in a small van (the driver himself complained that there weren't enough drivers).

Pros: Service from and to the airport was great, was happy with the car and it was awesome to support a Canadian company.

Pros: Honestly, not much. I was appreciative that I had a car to get me around.

Cons: -I had to fill my tires with air half way through, which I've never done with a rental before. -The check-in process was very slow. Even though I had an agent right away, the process was 3x as long as a standard rental service. -The check-out process was slow. Understaffed and they were passing me back and forth "he will help you", "she will help you" -I took a cab to & from the airport because shuttle was way too slow.

Cons: The shuttle didnt show up and pick us up at the airport so we were left stranded without a car at midnight. I have requested my deposit be returned but haven't heard from them. This is a scam operation

Cons: they seemed very unorganized and rather rude. there were excessive add-on fees, plus the large fee from your service, so it wasn't a deal at all. i will not be using either service again.

Pros: Friendly service, trying to cope with demand.

Cons: The shuttle was unable to take us from the airport to the rental place due to only one shuttle working that was too small with a long line of waiting customers. I ended up taking a $20 taxi to the rental location. Same thing happened on return. Shuttles taking too long to ferry everyone back and forth to the airport. I ended up taking a taxi to the airport, which cost $15. After car inspection, the Routes staff said I'd receive a final invoice. I haven't yet received the invoice after 4 days.

Pros: It was really hard to find them, it seemed a bit disorganized, and communicating with them was difficult from the airport.

Pros: Easy shuttle from the airport over to their offsite location; we had our van and were ready to go before our friends who were still in line at Budget at YVR

Cons: No complaints, all good

Pros: nothing, the worst service i have ever experienced and i will never use this company again.

Cons: garbage rental service that was in a gravel parking lot. took 2 hrs to get my car. had a deposit to get the car double the amount of any rental company i have ever used. they didnt have anyone qualified working for them.

Cons: It took routes shuttle 30 minutes to pick me up from the Vancouver airport, even after 3 phone calls. It was then an hour wait to get the car once I arrived. Lastly the car was below an 1/8 fuel ( empty). I nearly ran out of gas trying to get to my designated before finding a gas station.

Cons: Inefficiency services and disorder organization

Pros: Not much except the shuttle driver and the overnight guard to whom I dropped the car.

Cons: No real bathroom on site. Low budget operation with limited shuttle service.

Pros: the car is very good and the price is very good compared with other places

Cons: I waited for almost one hour for the shuttle (the agent first said it was going to be 10-15 min) and there was a long line at the rental office, which moved very slowly. By the time we got the car, it was about 2 hours after we got out of the airport.

Pros: They were trying to do their best during an extremely busy period. They could definitely use more staff

Pros: Cost was reasonable and vehicle was satisfactory.

Cons: Service was very slow. Having to wait an hour to return a vehicle was unacceptable. Agents were distracted frequently taking calls explaining where to meet the shuttle.

Cons: Chaotic. Slow and understaffed. 50 minutes at the rental counter and in line. Won’t use them again. Lot was confused.

Cons: Office was just a trailer in a dirt lot, hard to find for return, drop off for return at pick up area and not departing flights. GPS rented had to ask for a mount. How would you hold it otherwise?

Pros: The car was clean.

Cons: Their nitpicking fee structure including the per day mileage limits and limited airport pick up hours. I don't plan to rent from them again. It was a stressful experience throughout my rental period because I had to keep tabs on my mileage and was scared to not go over.

Cons: Ads of unlimited mileage is misleading, as cross border to us is limited to $200 and have to pay cross border fee. This condition is provided after you signed up for the offer. Additionally, i signed up for a minivan, by the pick-up time it's not ready, and got switched to SUV.

Cons: We were told because we were dropping the car off outside of business hours...there would be a security guard at the place to take the key..when we arrived to drop it off we rode around about 30 minutes and there was no security guard on the property. We had to lock the keys in the car and leave it at the gate. The next morning I called the place and no one could tell me where the security guard was that morning..I believe they got the key out the car..but no one followed up to let me know

Cons: I was told that I will get unlimited km when I booked online but when I got there they only gave me limited kms.

Pros: Good car good value

Cons: The location being off the airport was not convient.

Pros: The car provided was excellent!

Cons: Insurance, cross-border fees and fee for number of kms travelled per day were added on top of the price when we were picking up the vehicle, so that the price we settled on for the rental was no longer the same ($100 more expensive). On the online website, we should be able to indicate where we are going, and the cross-border and insurance prices should be included in the price before we arrive so that purchasers are not surprised by a costlier trip when they are picking up the vehicle.

Pros: Effecient staff. Helpful to get us checked out and back to the airport

Pros: Reasonable price of vehicle when compared to other options at the time.

Cons: Hard to reach by phone. Shuttle was late and dirty. Pick up and drop off was slow and uncomfortable.

Pros: Efficient service even though delays with rental car areas had changed at Vancouver airport

Cons: Needed a courtesy bus as located away from airport

Pros: We never got our reservation because of Routes canceling our reservation due to arriving past the 2 hour hold window

Cons: Everything. Staff was rude and never once attempted to assist us in finding a new rental car leaving 2 females stranded in a foreign country

Cons: booked a jeep Cherokee as I didn't want a wrangler as they have no boot length and we have boardbags get there and they give me a Cherokee after they tried to pile the luggage roof high I said I wouldn't be taking it as it would not have been safe to drive 130 km with a suitcase next to my child's head after explain that my car at home is smaller and all the luggage fitted in that they eventually changed the vehicle but I had to explain several times that the wrangler has no boot length.

Cons: Got a car with a giant crack in the windshield - did not affect performance, but it was a bad look.

Cons: They are in the process of moving so a few logistic issues in terms of speed on check in and out

Pros: It was quick to get in and out

Cons: Only have a caravan to shuttle back and forth to the airport, really need a van. People had to wait a second shift to get their cars.

Pros: Very accommodating
