Royal is a car rental company serving the island nation of Mauritius, the idyllic beach and nature holiday destination that can be found in the western Indian Ocean. Unlike many of its competitors, the company not only serves the island’s international airport, Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam International Airport but also has a presence in the towns of Grand Bay and Flic en Flac, both popular destinations for tourists.
Royal accepts debit cards for payment but requires that you have a credit card to leave the security deposit on. This is common on the island of Mauritius. Of course, you won’t be allowed to leave Mauritius with the vehicle, which would be difficult at best anyway as there aren’t any regular ferries between Mauritius and Reunion or any other location. So if you plan to visit both islands, your best bet is to fly between them and rent different cars on each.
