Pros: We have hired from Sicily by car on maybe 25 occasions. EVs on a few occasions. The agent asked for the car to be 100 percent charged on it's return. Not very easy to achieve. Having.questioned it, the agent insisted it was to be 100 percent. In fact, the contract says 85 percent charged or you will incur a cost per kwh back to 85 percent. All in all, somewhat annoying.

The imformation itself was unclear and clarified when picking up the car, when it was to late for any change to be done. The car had more scratches than it was described in protocol. No car examination when dropping off the car, thus no control by the client. Don't recommend!

Pros: We completed the initial setup online, so the pick-up process was quick and easy. Upon arrival at the airport, we took a number and waited no longer than 30 minutes for our turn with the agent. The system is efficient, giving us a yellow sign when it was almost our turn. Drop-off was smooth as well, taking just 5 minutes.

Cons: The agents in Palermo City (Via Stabile 6A) were the ones closest to us when the car broke down due to engine failure (heavy loss of cooling water/overheating) and during the emergency period, not only did they keep telling us what their closing time was, they didn't make any effort to help us resolve the issue. They asked to block 960€ for the substitute car even though I've already paid 650€ for the first car... Even then, they weren't able to let me see clearly where or why I had to pay this.

Upon collection of the car (in which we were late collecting due to a flight delay that was completely out of our control), we were appalled by the treatment we received from the agents. He was rude, aggressive & made us feel very aggravated and upset over the way we were treated. He was no way helpful and threatened to call the police when we asked a question about additional fees. It was also extremely hard to contact them.

Pros: The staff was friendly. The car provided met our expectations. The airport desk and car return areas were very convenient at Palermo airport.

For this reason as per to date they have not yet returned to me the 800Euro deposit on my Credit Card. Keep in mind that the car was returned with no damages caused by me on Tuesday 6th September 2022. I really appreciate if you can contact them urging the return of my deposit.

However, in order to help future visitors, it is better to book a car insurance at the desk when you pick up the car because the car insurance of Discover car is not valid and it a different insurance. Cons: The car I received was not what I was expecting. When I made the reservation it said that I would get a Peugeot 208 or similar but I got a Lancia Ypsilon. The Lancia is a smaller and much more underpowered car than the Peugeot. Also the Lancia doesn't appear on the website in the car fleet list. And the price was very high.

Estimate this cost me €10 extra when I returned it full. Bad practice in my view.

When the agreement was printed, I said that I refused to sign it since I did not want the additional insurance that Sicily By Car forced me to get. At that time, the representative started yelling in front of everyone saying that I verbally agreed and that I was forced to sign the documents. I will never do business with them again.
