Sicily By Car at Bergamo Airport

Pros: Super quick and pleasant service at the counter. Very small deposit.

Cons: Car is pretty old and had a lot of scratches. Car was not clean. I had to go to pick up the car by bus.

Cons: The car had no brakes at all. At the pickup, they give me the car whithout addblue, although the dashboard light was on when starting. 1 hour spent in line at the rental desk. Although it was allowed to pay with a debit card, under the conditions of the reservation, the agent at the rental office told me not to make reservations with them, next time.

Cons: The car was old or at least was run lots of km. One of the tire was like a spare tire and does not look good. I paid 50eur to you for late pick up and then renting company also charged me another 50euro since time has passed midnight.

Pros: My flight was delayed. I tried to call SiciliByCar 15 times before my departure to tell them I will be after they business hours. They didnt pickedup the phone. I provided my flight number and phone number during reservation in DiscoverCars. SiciliyByCar didnt call me. I lost my car and my upfront payment. I had a problem to find another car and I paid much more for it doing it without reservation. Never again paying upfront and never againg beliving that they try to call me having fly number.

Cons: Price change - during the reservation I was quoted 124,42 EUR - (Fiat 500L 4 days) in total total, and at the Sicily Office I was quoted 232,39 (this includes advance paid to discovercars) - it was 107,20 EUR MORE THAN I was quoted!!!!!!!

Cons: It was not stated in the confirmation email that we need to sign the contract at the airport desk and then go to pick up the car from the parking. This requires us to go back to the airport. Another area for improvement could be ensuring consistent requirements for the type of cards used during booking and when signing the contract.

Cons: The flight was delayed for one hour and there was nobody to talk to. The office was closed and nobody answered the phone even the next day. We couldn’t take the car and nobody wanted to help us or cooperate. I definitely don’t recommend Sicily By Car.

Cons: the car was not clean, broken fasteners for the rear shelf, I constantly had to fix it after closing the trunk, otherwise the shelf would block my view, the button on the keys that opens the trunk worked after several dozen presses

Cons: There was no information about droping place - niether telephon, no working hours, no parking place... I had to come and to check everything one day before droping and it was must, becaus on Sunday, when I droped the car, the office was closed.

There was no Android Auto or Apple Car option, which should be obvious nowadays. But car had built-in navigation system without extra fee, so it helped little bit. Not owner of a diesel car, so I'm not sure if adding AdBlue should be customer thing or not, I added just in case.

The service of the rental company wanted to tow the car and leave me alone without a car, without a way to get to a central location. and only agreed to order me a taxi (which I will pay for) as a solution.

Pros: The car was really good. It was new, well-equipped and clean.

Cons: The quality of the baby chairs was beyond ridiculous. These chairs they offer have nothing to do with safety. It should be banned to offer such equipment to the customers who come for holidays with their children. Every single customers before us in the line had the same problem. Be aware - traveling without children - highly recommended. Traveling with children - take the baby chair with you.

Cons: Picking up the car was poor. I selected late pick-up for the car but when I arrived at the rental desk it was closed. Tried to call but no answer. I had to spend the night at the airport and wait until 8 am for the rental to open.

Pros: - Representative at the front desk was helpful and nice - Returning the car was easy. There was a guy who picked up the key no matter if it was really early in the morning. Shuttle to the airport came and go right away.

Cons: - Very long waiting line and only one person working at the front desk - Car was NOT clean - Car came with Summer Tires ( and we were on a ski vacation and there was snow on the roads)

After that, they refused to give me the car because I only had a debit card, despite the fact that there are no issues/risks taking a deposit from my debit card and nearby Europcar rentals could do that without problem. Also debit card was not listed among the “not accepted” payment methods, leaving me misinformed. Yes, the price is low, but the staff at the desk is incompetent and has zero focus on the customer. You get what you pay for.

That said it had done 60k miles and they weren't bothered about damage as it had already been well used. Paid for small SUV but was given more like a normal estate car, was disappointing but fine.

Cons: The service was terrible. We had a flat tyre and the car didn’t have any replacement tyre to change. They took the car away to change the tyre and took them 3 days which by then we had to fly back to our country and on my rental period it clearly says the day I was meant to return the car despite that they took 3 days. There was poor communication from the agents, calling them for hours. They also almost tried to charge me the flat tyre which I didn’t even cause, they gave a car with bad tyres.

Car was old for No one available at car pick up location, I was just passed keys & told roughly where the car was, the price, windscreen wiper blades in poor condition & glue/plant detritus was stuck over the windscreen, which interfered with drivers view & couldn’t be removed. I was advised that this was the only car available. Rip off.

Pros: Car was in bad condition, wind screen wipers need urgently replaced and was a lot of rain so was extremely dangerous to drive with windscreen wipers that didn’t work. No manual in the car which didn’t help with using it. Car was dirty and not given with a full tank of petrol!

Cons: The car was poorly equipped, it was stated to be an upgrade from the "intermediate" car I booked yet I could only fit one suitcase in the trunk, and the oil level warning light came on 200 km after I collected the car.

Antena was broken and left in car, windshield liquid was full however it did not work entire time, front headlight bulb stopped working on second day, antifreeze in engine was on low level, I had to purchase and fill it. Front dashboard showed change oil indication, I showed this to rental agents but they did not care and said just go. When I returned car, nobody from rental agents was there.

They were the reason to loose our flight back home, they left us with our 2 babies on the street and refused to pick up the car on return unless we would pay 40euros to drive the car from the parking 2 to their parking spaces just... 100 meters away... They did not speak any English!! And they were saying nasty things about me and my family in Italian because they thouht I didn't understand....Just protect yourselves....

The staff were exceptionally efficient and pleasant to deal with; both on teh phone and in person in Bergamo, and the whole process was simple and a joy.

Not knowing where I would be able to charge it during my short time in Italy, I had to change to a petrol car for a cost of an extra 10 Euros per day.
