Was expecting something newer, but honestly the car gave me no problems, was fuel efficient and got me to where I needed to go. So I’d probably take the car again after the initial experience.

Pros: Though there was a slight queue when we were collecting the vehicle, the friendly service staff were attending to us as fast as they could. The vehicle given was as promised and was in an overall great condition (except some dents on the car body - take your own photos to document them if it happens to you). No other complaints on the condition of the car really, the interior was almost new and the drive was great... the price paid was very good value.

Cons: Nothing much to dislike, we did not really need much service as the documentation was no-frills and was done quite speedily. Just had to queue during collection (but that was perhaps due to Sicily By Car having the most customers?) Perhaps the staff could have a more thorough briefing (and joint-inspection) with customers who may not be familiar with the vehicle in question.

The second car, which had less features and boot space required us to purchase Adblue to accompany the diesel fuel or risk the car stopping. We were far from the place we rented it with 2 different warning lights coming on the dash display & waiting on the phone on hold for ages. We gave up getting their help & resolved the issue we could at our own expense. The pump warning light was still coming on but we didn't resolve that one.

Cons: On returning the car, they inserted the door key and it would not open. The key was always used remotely to open the car and never by insertion (so I was unaware of the issue). They tried to say it must have been forced although there is no evidence of forced damage to the lock or surrounding area. The car was always kept in a locked family garage so if the lock did not work they must have known about it before my rental. I was charged an extra 300 euros deposit for possible repairs.

I hate to think what would happen if we needed support during our rental period. Very frustrating experience.

Cons: The car had holes in the upholstery, apparently from dropped cigarette ashes, because the whole car smelled of smoke. When I said I didn't want to drive a car that smelled of smoke, the response was two sprays of air freshener, which lasted about as long as it took me to exit the rental car center.

When I pointed out a few of the damaged areas the staff member quickly scanned the car and said not to worry. I then recieved an email stating I owed an extra 360 euros after drop off. I thought I had coverage but apparently I needed to sign the document at the pick up desk which I was not informed clearly about.
